Foolish Earthling
Has anyone else seen this? ..........................OK, apparently the forum won't let me cut and paste the internet address to the site. I have no idea how else to show the address...it's very long.
Anyway, has anyone else seen the photo of Mars where they are claiming the so-called trees are actually frozen CO2 jets or stains or something? Just Google "Mars Trees" and it'll take you there. The photo could be southern California rolling hills for all it looks like them.

Tell me what happens when you try. It should automatically convert any URL to either an embedded image, or direct link to the site complete with the title.

At least that's how it works for me, but I gather we may have some minor glitches with the new forum software and Internet Explorer 8. That you have to expect. It'll be fixed if that's what it is.

Despite that image probably not showing trees, there is indeed some very interesting photos of Mars showing vegatative looking anomalies. I spent a couple weeks last year going through Mac Tonnies' excellent 'Cydonian Imperative' Mars research site, and there were quite a number of images showing what looked like water trails trickling down some dunes. On top of that were photos of what looked like small tree-like vegatation.

I wont say I "believe", but I would not be surprised if Mars is a very, very different place than what we've been led to believe.

They look like the same to me...however some appear to have shadows.

My main problem is I can't decide whether the light is coming from the right of the picture or from the bottom right of the picture. So I'm not sure what is really going on. Also we don't have much in the way of reference to tell us the camera's perspective...so despite this clear image, there's too much to question.

varicose veins notwithstanding, here is the link to the full catalog of images if anyone is interested:

The pictures are absolutely breathtaking in their clarity.

When I right clicked the mouse to click "paste", the "paste" option was not highlighted and would not function. I've not had a problem using other sites or files this way.
Thanks Gene, and love the show.

I'm sure most of you know already but if you have Google earth, click on View, go to Explore and try either Moon or Mars
and if you hold down Control, Alt and the letter A, you have a great flight sim.

Obviously not quite as sharp as the aboves images but great fun, and when you've had enough of crashing your plane ;).
you should take a look at some of the featured satellite images on Mars and the Luna landing sites.
