Paranormal Maven
During the last few weeks, I have been continuing to make requests to various researchers for permission to scan newsletters that they used to edit and seeking to get those newsletters scanned. The generally positive responses have continued. Fortunately, my cooperation with the AFU in Sweden, Barry Greenwood in the USA and others has also continued. Indeed, some further researchers have begun assisting in this project (including Ray Boeche). The collection of scanned defunct UFO newsletters is building up rather nicely. So, now online (as detailed below) are the following new PDFs:
(1) "Saucer Scoop"(Joan Whritenour, Brad Steiger and others)
(2) "OVNI" (Omar Fowler, Black triangles),
(3) "Houston Sky" (Gayle Nesom)
(4) “SPI Enigmas" and "SPI Newsletter" (Malcolm Robinson)
(5) "Journal of the Fortean Research Center" (Ray Boeche)
(6) Tom Adams "Stigmata" (animal mutilations) and "Crux" (general forteana, including UFOs)
(7) Centre for Fortean Zoology's "Animals & Men" (CFZ)
(1) "Saucer Scoop"
“Saucer Scoop” was published by Joan Whritenour and others (including Brad Steiger) in the second half of the 1960s.
This newsletter was a mix of concise summaries of UFO press reports and comments on the output of various UFO groups at that time, plus some brief articles and advertisements for the publications of other UFO researchers and other goods (e.g. UFO detectors).
Joan Whritenour and some of her fellow editors are now deceased. One of them, Brad Steiger, is still alive and active in UFO/fortean research. Ray Boeche helpfully contacted Brad Steiger for me to ask if he had any issue with this publication being made freely available online and Brad promptly responded that he thought this was “an excellent idea” and he had no problem with it. Issues of Saucer Scoop also contained a statement that material can be copied as long as it is credited.
With that position in mind, the AFU scanned many issues of “Saucer Scoop”. Barry Greenwood in the USA filled in a significant number of the gaps. A few issues remain to be located and scanned.
I hope that posting this (incomplete) collection helps prompt some further collaboration to complete the scans of this newsletter.
The collection of scanned issues (listed below) can be downloaded with a single click during the next week from this temporary link: Saucer Scoop - vol 3 no 03.pdf and 36 more files
After the next week, or if you only want a specific issue, they can also be found longer-term on the AFU’s website at this link: Index of /Downloads/Magazines/United States/Saucer Scoop

(2) Omar Fowler's "OVNI"
Clas Svahn has been in touch with Omar Fowler for me and obtained permission for the "OVNI" newsletter (of Omar Fowler’s “Phenomenon Research Association”) to be scanned and made available on the AFU's website.
The AFU has scanned 158 issues of this newsletter and Barry Greenwood has scanned a further issue.
Omar Fowler is probably best known for his research into “Flying Triangle” reports.
Reflecting Omar Fowler’s areas of interest, his “OVNI” newsletter contains a higher proportion of material on “Flying Triangle” reports than most UFO journals.
The collection of scanned issues (listed below) can be downloaded with a single click during the next week from this temporary link: OVNI - 1994 04 - April.pdf and 158 more files
After the next week, or if you only want a specific issue, they can also be found longer-term on the AFU’s website at this link: Index of /Downloads/Magazines/United Kingdom/OVNI (Omar Fowler)

(3) "Houston Sky"
Gayle Nesom has also given permission for the AFU to scan and upload her "Houston Sky" newsletters from the 1990s.
As the name implies, this UFO newsletter focused on sightings in and around Houston – plus comments on and by researchers in that area.
Issues 1 to 11 have now been scanned by the AFU in Sweden. Gayle has confirmed to me that no issues were published after issue 11 (although she had gather some material for Issue 12 and it sounds like that would have been a very interesting issue).
The collection of scanned issues (listed below) can be downloaded with a single click during the next week from this temporary link: Houston Sky - no 05 - June-July 1995.pdf and 10 more files

(4) SPI's "Enigmas" and "Strange Phenomena Investigations Newsletter"
I recently asked Malcolm Robinson for his permission for the AFU to scan and upload the newsletters of his "Strange Phenomena Investigations” (“SPI”) group, i.e. “SPI Newsletter” and “SPI Enigmas” Newsletter"
Not only was he willing for these to be scanned, he was "chuffed" about this. The SPI publications cover a fairly wide range of fortean material (e.g. ghosts and psychic phenomena), but includes a considerable amount of material about UFOs - particularly Scottish UFO sightings.
Each of the relevant individual issues is at these permanent links (as will any more issues I can obtain...) :Index of /Downloads/Magazines/United Kingdom/SPI Enigmas and Index of /Downloads/Magazines/United Kingdom/SPI Newsletter

(5) "Journal of the Fortean Research Center" (Ray Boeche)
Ray Boeche has kindly given me permission to upload searchable scans (which he produced) ofthe journal of his "Fortean Research Center".
Ray Boeche has previously written that "... the Journal attempted to address the issues and topics of the day: UFO-related government documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, the Majestic-12 controversy, the alien abduction phenomenon, ghosts and hauntings, animal mutilations, psi phenomena, and all matters cryptozoological and Fortean. It was always our hope to serve as a reliable source of information — of data — and let the reader exercise critical-thinking skills in order to draw their own conclusions".
A complete set of the issues of this publication is now freely available on the AFU's website at:http://www.afu.se/Downloads/Magazin... of the Fortean Research Center (Ray Boeche)/
I've also created a temporary Wetransfer link so that the collection of issues can be downloaded with a single click:https://we.tl/MFjTuiAklk

(6) Tom Adams "Stigmata" and "Crux"
Tom Adams published the "Stigmata" newsletter on animal mutilations ("mutes") and a less well-known, and shorter-lived, newsletter on "Strange Phenomena, Singular Events, UFOs, Quirky Notions and Goofball Ideas" known as "Crux".
Tom died in 2014 in rather sad circumstances. He had no immediate family left. He had also lost touch with many of his friends in the "mutes"/fortean community. His obituary indicates there was no formal service for Tom when he was cremated.
One of Tom's friends, Ray Boeche, worked with several other colleagues to collect Tom's publications together as a tribute to Tom. Ray and others did a lot of work to gather a complete set of material together. Ray Boeche published that material in the book "Bloodless Cuts". Ray has now given permission for me to upload Ray’s scans of the relevant material. (I'd prefer to also have permission from Tom's family/heirs, but given the circumstances outlined above this appears to be impossible).
I've split the collection of "Stigmata" into individual issues and uploaded searchable scans of them to the AFU's website at: http://www.afu.se/Downloads/Magazines/United States/Stigmata (Animal mutilations)/

(7) Centre for Fortean Zoology's "Animals & Men"
CFZ (the "Centre for Fortean Zoology") and its director, Jonathan Downes, are well known to anyone with any interest in Cryptozoology. I recently asked Jonathan for permission to upload searchable scans of the CFZ's magazine - "Animals & Men" - to the AFU's website. (The AFU's collection extends beyond UFOs to wider forteana).
Jonathan promptly responded that he thought this was "a great idea".
So, Issues 1 to 45 of that magazine have now been scanned by our friends at the AFU in Sweden and are now online.

These collections can also be downloaded with a single-click from these temporary links respectively :SPI Enigmas - no 24.pdf and 24 more files and SPI Newsletter - no 2.pdf and 6 more files

The temporary link below can also be used to download the collection with a single click. https://we.tl/TrYoSut7el

Each of these issues is at this permanent link :http://www.afu.se/Downloads/Magazines/United Kingdom/Animals and Men (CFZ)/
