Japans Underground Robot Army
Not sure if there are many hockey fans on this forum, but the opportunity to have a hockey conversation is worth the effort of typing this out.

So who's psyched for the upcoming season? I watched an exhibition game last night between Boston and Toronto, and god did it feel good.

Even though the star players weren't out, I haven't seen a hockey game, let alone a leafs game in months.

Pffft... The Leafs :D

Montreal is where it's at!
I really hope the Canadian teams do well this year (except for the Leafs). It's good that Harper met with Obama yesterday so that Canadian hockey teams will have an easier time with their flights.

Go Caps go! Former STH here.

Then it's Anaheim followed by Buffalo... :D

(I used to be a NJD fan and then Scotty Stevens retired.)

Overall I love the game, I don't think there's anything that compares with it. I've even watched Swedish games on the international channel...no subs/interpreter, but a lot of fun to watch. I saw Toronto v. Boston years ago (Jim Carey was in net for Boston and Tie Domi was young) in the old arena-amazing place and amazing fans in TO.

The Habs kinda went sideways as opposed to forward over the off season, I don't think they'll be doing any better this year than they did last year, but who knows.

The leafs have been dreadful for so long that it is exciting to see this bigger stronger team coming in to play the game heavy and hard. Hopefully I'll see my team in the playoffs this year.

BTW, how can you pick Ottawa over Toronto? That's just blasphemy.

Live games in Toronto are a spectacle. Everyone should take one in if they get a chance. It's even better when the leafs are playing well.

I was pretty impressed with the "fan trivia." I mean, how the heck am I, a US fan under 45yrs old, gonna know who played on the "kid line" back in '62???

The fans were also quick to applaud a good play, no matter which team made it...and just as quick to "boo" a bad play, and do a "mock" cheer. In short I had a great time.

Canucks. Really miss Trevor Linden.
after that, Canadiens. Then maybe Oilers. Toronto on bottom of list, after Panthers. Way after Panthers. Just kidding. Toronto comes before the bottom 10.

I am wondering how long it will take before the organization gets him into the business side of things, or maybe coach or player development. would be nice.

It was bad for sure. :frown:

Nice trade by them today for Kessel. Gave up a lot, but got a hell of a scorer.

I have mixed feelings about that trade, but Burke is the man, so I gotta trust what he's doing.

If it makes you feel any better, we beat the penguins too.

GO LEAFS!

I love how tough the Leafs are too. Burke brings in both winning and toughness. Gotta love that!

It's been a while since I've been able to be a proud leafs fan rather than a leafs fan that hides in his basement from all of his Detroit loving friends and their harsh words.
