Nuclear Weapons - "Ra Material" - Channeling as relates to UFOs

I don't know where to begin with this, I've recently discovered two separate (though related) "texts" online and they both have struck me as, shall we say, worth more attention. Yet possibly also completely nuts.

Has anyone heard of or familiarized themselves with the "Ra Material?" Apparently it's the transcripts of channeling sessions about 20 years ago with an entity who (supposedly) shed a lot of light on a great many UFO related topics. In the greater context, "Ra" was (or claimed to be) a "positive" entity several stages ahead from those entities, positive and negative, who do the bulk of contacting, abducting, and so forth. (Mostly negative.) Again, this is in the context of the Ra Material- I'm not endorsing any of it. I don't know what to think.

It's available in full on the internet in several places, this is the best site as far as I can tell.

I've also been reading some work by a mysterious character called Michael Topper (use the pen name Marshall Telemachus) who was apparently a scholar of this sort of stuff (and also apparently some sort of cult leader, or at least so some internet-based accusations go.) I read his summary of the Ra Material (he called it a "Book Review") and it was definitely very rich food for thought- stuff about bad and neutral/positive entities, different stages in evolution, why they come here, etc... although then when I see some of his other writings, I am not as impressed.

The Ra Material is about 5,000 pages long, I don't endorse any of it, but here's what the Ra Entity had to say about nuclear weapons (or at least a part of it):

26.19 Questioner: Then what you did, I am assuming, is to create an air of mystery with the UFO phenomenon, as we call it, and then by telepathy send many messages which could be accepted or rejected under the Law of One so that the population would start thinking seriously about the consequences of what it was doing. Is this correct?

Ra: I am Ra. This is partially correct. There are other services we may perform. Firstly, the integration of souls or spirits, if you will, in the event of use of these nuclear devices in your space/time continuum. This the Confederation has already done.

26.20 Questioner: I don’t fully understand what you mean by that. Could you expand on that a little bit?

Ra: I am Ra. The use of intelligent energy transforming matter into energy is of such a nature among these weapons that the transition from space/time third density to time/space third density or what you may call your heaven worlds is interrupted in many cases.They are available

Therefore, we are offering ourselves as those who continue the integration of soul or spirit complex during transition from space/time to time/space.

26.21 Questioner: Could you give us an example from Hiroshima or Nagasaki of how this is done?

Ra: I am Ra. Those who were destroyed, not by radiation, but by the trauma of the energy release, found not only the body/mind/spirit complex made unviable, but also a disarrangement of that unique vibratory complex you have called the spirit complex, which we understand as a mind/body/spirit complex, to be completely disarranged without possibility of re-integration. This would be the loss to the Creator of part of the Creator and thus we were given permission, not to stop the events, but to ensure the survival of the, shall we say, disembodied mind/body/spirit complex. This we did in those events which you mention, losing no spirit or portion or holograph or microcosm of the macrocosmic Infinite One.

26.22 Questioner: Could you tell me just vaguely how you accomplished this?

Ra: I am Ra. This is accomplished through our understanding of dimensional fields of energy. The higher or more dense energy field will control the less dense.

26.23 Questioner: Then you are saying that, in general, you will allow the population of this planet to have a nuclear war and many deaths from that war, but you will be able to create a condition where these deaths will be no more traumatic than entrance to what we call the heaven worlds or the astral world due to death by a bullet or by the normal means of dying by old age. Is this correct?

Ra: I am Ra. This is incorrect. It would be more traumatic. However, the entity would remain an entity.

26.24 Questioner: Can you tell me the condition of the entities who were killed in Nagasaki and Hiroshima at this time?

Ra: I am Ra. They of this trauma have not yet fully begun the healing process. They are being helped as much as is possible.

26.25 Questioner: When the healing process is complete with these entities, will this experience of death due to nuclear bomb cause them to be regressed in their climb towards fourth density?

Ra: I am Ra. Such actions as nuclear destruction affect the entire planet. There are no differences at this level of destruction, and the planet will need to be healed.

This has to be placed in a greater context, again. If it's (meaning the Ra Material as a whole, not just the snippet I pasted above) is a hoax it's one hell of a hoax, but then it could be more deception, it could be new age bullshit, it could be a lot of stuff. But I haven't really sat down and gone "huh..." and really turned over what I read on the subject probably since I read one of Keel's or Vallee's books.

The Ra Material is simply too vast to be a hoax, and it seems to have a good "pedigree" in that it's not forming the basis of any cult or profit-making activity.

Michael Topper I'm much more skeptical of, but his summary of the Ra Material, while seeming very New Agey in "flavour," is very critical of most new age tenants (ideas about love and positive energy and trusting the entities and so on) and provide a very believable (if dense) framework for understanding a lot of "the situation."

I just want to know if anyone knows more about this material, what people think of channeling, and also share what I though was the most "revealing" "communication" on the subject of nuclear weapons as kind of a taste of what I'm talking about.

EDIT: I reread this post and I realize it's all over the place - I should have made two or even three seperate posts here, one about the nuclear weapons quote, and one (or two) about the "Ra Material" and the Michael Topper writings on that subject... sorry.

I got familiarized witht the Ra matereial at a UFO conference a few years ago and I forgot most of it. If you want your ear and head talked off find or talk to a guy named Wynn Free.

Generally speaking I think the entire channeling thing is bogus.

I've read most of the Ra stuff. It's a fairly fascinating if almost incomprehensible bit of work. It was preceded by Secrets of the UFO. My understanding is that Elkins started out with an interest in UFOs and transitioned to looking into Spiritualist Church seances and such after gradually becoming frustrated with the nuts and bolts approach. Carla Rueckert, the channel, is apparently still doing it.

I don't view it as a hoax per se but I'm not ready to take it at face value either. From what I can tell, Elkins was a fairly smart guy and the group involved seemed quite sincere and sort of baffled by the stuff that was being channeled. They tape recorded years worth of channeling sessions and transcribed the tapes directly. Not sure if they are still doing it but for a long time they were just giving pdfs of the transcriptions away for free and as far as I can tell they weren't trying to start a cult or make money. The sheer volume of the material and the fact that it was all recorded on the fly so to speak, makes me think that, at minimum, Rueckert was in some sort of state of altered consciousness. I have a lot of trouble with the idea that this is just an improvised new-age line of bs by a gifted liar but on the other hand I'm strained to see anything like provable advanced knowledge in the material.

One of the interesting things I noticed is that Ra occasionally misspeaks and corrects itself which I thought was a bit unexpected from an advanced entity. The authors make a point of not editing the mistakes out which I suppose you could view as either a sign of honesty on their part or some sort of psychological ploy.

In short, I have no idea what to make of it but I'd say it is at least worth reading the first book to get a sense of what is being said and how they went about doing the channeling sessions and such just to familiarize yourself with the details of the weirdness.

Another book that I would place in the same category is the OAHSPE. It's another great example of some fairly average person suddenly producing a staggeringly huge and bizarre mystical worldview document seemingly out of nowhere in a relatively short amount of time. I find the whole subject of received documents to be pretty fascinating.

You've summed up my thoughts almost exactly. (Don Elkins certainly seems an odd character, judging by his wikipedia bio.) The sheer bulk of the material, and the fact that it is (still) being distributed free (LL Research will even mail the books free under some circumstances, according to their website), is quite compelling. And the material itself seems quite internally consistent (I haven't read it all by a longshot, though.) Most of all, for me, it struck a lot of chords (but here we must be careful, since a well-fabricated but "false" worldview will of course try to strike those chords, coming up with explanations for all your questions, and so on.) The material ranges from the deeply spiritual (the nature of the universe, the love of the creator, and so on) to the truly conspiratorial (US run UFO bases in Mexico?), but always does so with a sort of deadpan air which at the very least lends it some "dignity."

They way it dealt with nuclear weapons and their significance for "other beings" was one such chord, for me... it's a subject I've given a lot of thought to and now I find myself in need of, ironically, a Stanton Friedman to bounce some ideas off of. How much do we really know as to what is going on when we trigger these devices, at molecular levels and beyond? Are we depleting our ranks in some "special" way that they don't like, for either noble or selfish reasons, when we use the weapons?

And there's plenty of other things scattered around the material also which give me a lot of pause. I find it interesting it deals with contact in ways which stand the test of time, given that the material was collected before the "contactees" became "abductees" in the late 80's early 90's. A lot of the Ra Material also seems to have entered into the artistic consciousness, also (which may mean nothing more than that authors of the books I like were familiar themselves with the material and used it as inspiration...)

I haven't read Secrets of the UFO yet, but I must say the existance of this book is cause for some concern for me, i.e., the fact that they had a book already written *before* contacting the Ra Entity means there would be some basis for the channeler basically making reference to that worldview. I will still be reading it though, when I can find time! I have heard of the OAHSPE (vaguely, on the fringes of research into other things) and will take a look at this also.
