I assume you're talking about the second image from the right, in the lower row. If so, what proof is there that the image is from Mars? I mean, if that's correct, I would agree, it's amazing, but I'd like some sourcing information.

There is a newer color image not as outlined and not as clear. I don't have time now but if I can locate that one a comparison can be made between the two. The newer one is definitely from NASA it actually was released by NASA. We will see.

Really? Do you have the link to the NASA page where it states that the image is from Mars? When you have the time, I'd love to see that link.

I undertand your questions I have the same one.

I meant another image shows the similiar structure but it is at a different angle, and its color. The image Bob Dean showed I cannot share a link from NASA, but I think another image is around the net that was from NASA>

I understnad what you mean its not for sure from NASA I guess nothing is for sure. Probably the only way to know for sure is the NASA labeling on the bottom

Seeing a link to the official NASA site, with the image you cite, is the only way to know it's from NASA. A label inserted into the bottom of the image would be meaningless, anyone could do that.

The Mars spaceport shot is a sneaky piece of action. I think it originated on Hoagy's Enterprise Mission site. It was a cropped and enlarged image from the Mariner 9 probe. It's done the rounds for years as evidence of a spaceport or airport. In Dean's image, it's been tidied up so much that the observer isn't really given much choice but to see it. Instead of a pixellated crop, it's become an artificial wonder. What's sneaky is that Dean makes no mention of these improvements.

If anyone recalls Hoagy's shard and tower image? He's always showing the same enlarged part of the scratched and creased hard copy he has. The other versions don't show anything like a 'shard' or 'tower.' Dean is misleading his audience using the same trick. Before his X-Con, I hadn't seen his uber-cleaned up version...kinda implies he knows damn well it's been corrected.

Ahhh, here's a good site showing how the 'Mars airport' came to be... Mars Art Gallery Article Faking an Alien Airport Complex on Mars

Seems like the original shot http://marsoweb.nas.nasa.gov/landingsites/mer2003/mocs/Images/E12-02049/E12-02049_02.jpg had an area of concave geology. A little creativity and a couple of highlights inverted it into a vertical structure. By the time it's done the rounds we have Dean's crop shot.

Did I mention Hoagland before? Concave geology? Anyone remember his glass worms with the little car still in there?

I used to comb through various Mars anomalists' site for interesting pictures of Mars. I saved the original photo of the "airport" and eventually found another. I'll post both here, but note they are taken from a different angle from Dean's rendering of the "airport" and actually may be the same photo, I just don't remember. Dean's is an artist's rendering, it appears anyway, but the "airport's" or "hub's" features seem to have been enhanced by his imagination or through some process I don't understand.

I'm not an anomalist per se, and only saved this photo because it was interesting.. If I remember correctly, it was said that this photo came from the Viking mission, not Mariner. Could be wrong, however.

I've never posted to this site from my photobucket account. Hope I get it right.

I could have sworn these photos came from the Viking mission though, not Mariner. I only saved a few Viking shots because they were much more interesting to me than those of subsequent missions.

I don't think we can be, David.

Here's what I remember from that time though. The anomalists would get their photos from a JPL website. JPL processed the images and eventually put them on display on the net. Of course the anomalists would then try to enhance them to find artifiacts I could never see myself, but hey, they were fun for a while.

So JPL could have duped the public, but there were a lot of anomalists who would then visit JPL's website to download the same photo for their analysis. I never heard any anomalist cry foul about obtaining the same photo, but a bunch of them could have been in cahoots too. I've never seen a rebuttal by JPL either, however. JPL probably wouldn't waste time on them anyway. Just don't know.

There may be a Viking or Mariner archive where this can be obtained, but I'd not be interested in looking for it. I think Dean's pictures are interesting, but they could easily be hoaxed which is my point. That airport/hub thing Dean's claiming as proof of life on Mars is just bogus. The photos I saved aren't even close to proof either, but they are eye catching.

Clearly a canyon, or series of trenches or something. Clearly NOT an airport.

So now the question is, WHY is Bob Dean promoting stuff like this? Is he lost in his own sea of Exopolitical celebrity? Or was he never credible at all? Disinfo agent?
