In case some of you have not noticed, I have been uploading some "classic episodes" from mainly my old radio program "UFOs Tonite!" on the Dark Matters Forum. Some I think most of you would find of interest ....

1 just uploaded my first interview with Richard "Dick" Hall. Some fascinating information on NICAP, Don Keyhoe, Ed Ruppelt, abductions and more.

2. Bill Moore- on MJ-12 (the original MJ-12) Paul Bennewitz and the AFOSI

3. Jim Marrs- not only on JFK but his research into Rving and more.

4. Chuck DeCaro- CNN and the 4 part series on Bentwaters... and mainstream press and UFOs.

5. Lars Hansson and all kinds of stuff. There is so much more but I just wanted to touch base with you all about these new shows.

Hi Decker,

I noticed you are encoding the MP3 files you've uploaded at CD-quality 192Kbps 44.1KHz stereo.

If your shows are mostly (only?) human voice (no music) and predominantly male voice, one suggestion I would like to offer, would be to encode your sound files at lower rates.

Perhaps the most bandwidth-friendly option would be to encode the shows at 16KHz 8-bit mono, which would require only 16Kbps (a 2hr show would need just 15MB). One could also try 16KHz 16-bit mono.

Dhatz, thank you for your note about the shows. Now, at the risk of sounding "snarky" which I DO NOT mean to do, I am digitizing these shows for my purposes not yours. I need to keep them at the quality I am encoding them at and I am making them available for the public to hear as a service to future generations of UFO researchers. FYI.

Decker, I'm only trying to be helpful, because the issue of ISP costs related to bandwidth has been raised quite often in these forums.

I would offer a similar suggestion if someone was e.g. scanning old newspaper UFO clippings at 2400dpi and 48-bit color.
