our changing earth

Humans must have been around at least 225 million years ago to cause the continents to split and drift apart and also cause those ice ages and warm periods because we all know only humans could cause such devastation... THANKFULLY we have politicians trying hard to impose taxes that would stop future plate tectonics and changes of climate. :)
Dark Roasted Blend: Future Plate Tectonics

Well for my part I just posted it because I thought it was a nifty use of satellite imagery. No agenda. If the images had shown increasing greenery and lessening brown I still would have done so. True, there is probably some sites using simulation software showing changes since the ice age, but its still simulation. Ain't nothing like the real thang to show changes going on. the good the bad and the ugly.

The time lapse images are pretty cool looking. When I see that kind of thing it always reminds me of just how very small one person is. The feeling only gets worse when I see images of space. It's both captivating and humbling.

climate change is good, it stimulates evolution. if you like polar bears you should embrace climate change.

Thank you for posting one of the most ridiculous articles ever. When I see someone wetting their pants over a "scientific consensus" or stating climate change is caused by humans, I know this person is a complete idiot. This guy is a complete idiot.

pixil, Your position on climate change by human behaviors, seems a bit extreame. To insist it's real and happening vs the theory that we as humans could not set such a thing in motion through industrial pollution, over population, etc -well, taking either side seems a bit off to me, personally.

climate change is real, it has happened over and over and will continue to happen over and over with or without humans, with or without pollution, with or without plastic bags in the ocean and with or without a carbon tax. YES, humans cause pollution but to have the self importance to say humans have CAUSED global climate change is simply not true.

While I agree with much of the above- Our current over consuming lifestyle is but a tiny blip in time, compared to the history/age of our ancient planet. We're lucky she hasn't shaken us off like a bad case of flees. Really, we have nothing to compare- no other industrialized planet/civilization to match and see exactly how or if climate was affected. Personally, considering the hundreds of atomic explosions we've tested- that alone, and of itself would surprise me if the planets climate was unaffected.

It looks to me as if this author was challenged. I don't think he is "wetting his pants" over anything. To be honest the article is a little dated and there may now be some different data.

I am involved with climate control and I can tell you that we have seen higher temperatures recently within the last several years. I didn't intend to hit a nerve with you pixel. The ozone layer protects us from UV among other things. When I think of all the cars and factories out there it isn't difficult for me to believe that we are at least partially responsible for the documented evidence of the ozone depletion.

How responsible would you say we are?
