Nothin' to see here
Another good show this week. Its good to see the people behind the Haunted Roadtrip series seem to have their head screwed on and approach the whole thing very sensibly.

EDIT, David, were you sent any photos from them? I think you asked if he could send you that pic of the twisted house. Would you have permission to post it/them here?

I didn't feel like I got much data from these guys, but they are pretty decent people and I don't think they had any sort of agenda--which is kind of refreshing.

Gene, you had a book title and author you mentioned on Google Books. Could you print that out here? I must be spelling something wrong. TIA.

I thought Gene and David were fine, but I felt that the guests were only moderately serious or thoughtful about this subject.

I searched about the video of the ghost at the "Liquid Assets" bar, but all I can find is the following:
Here and here

If this is really what Laura was talking about then she is easily impressed.

The book David was talking about is available here to be read online or downloaded in .pdf

That's it?!? For chrissakes, that looks like a laser pointer being trained right at the camera lens, from an oblique angle (off-camera), hence the refraction/replication. That's silly. Gene, do you have her email? Oy...

I think ghost (or whatever) photos are this century's version of ectoplasm.

If I were an actual disembodied entity on the other hand (as I hope to be one day...) I wouldn't go to the effort of interacting massively with the physical environment to produce photographic traces when it would seem so much more straightforward to impress images directly on the human mind (for which reason I see no intrinsic disqualification in cases where multiple witnesses report seeing something but nothing appears on photographs)

On cold spots (the kind that do register on instruments): these might be consistent with energy being drawn from the environment to enable some sort of manifestation or presence in the physical universe by something that is in some sense not a part of it.
Which leads me to a question: Are temperature drops ever associated with poltergeist phenomena?

That was "People From the Other World" by Henry Alcott. It took a few attempts for the search to find it. I'm about half way through with it, and think it's worth the read.

I thought the show was pretty good, nice and laid back, with everyone having a good time. I think the one fella puts to much stock in "orbs" found in photos, but I guess that's his prerogative.

I, too, would like to see the picture of the twisted house. Post it if you can, please!

edit: Now I see there is already a link to the book in a previous post. I guess I'm kinda slow today.

Interesting show, guys!

I still remember the episode where I heard about that incident that I think both David and Gene witnessed?

It was in South Florida and you'd seen a girl dressed in 70's dress, with indian fringe to her jacket. You should elaborate on that sighting, sometime!

It was fascinating stuff!

Well, it was David's friend (Bill?) who saw that apparition?

I've never been that lucky. :D

David mentioned on the show that there was a thread here about the book "People from the Other World". Does anyone know where that is?
Thanks!

Just search "Olcott" and a couple of threads pop up. If you're just looking for the book itself see my earlier post in this thread for a link.
