Paranormal Novice
I have had a number of dogs come and go in my life. They were not simply dogs, they were treasured members of our family... and I swear that on occasion a few of them pay us the occasional visit from the afterlife... in particular our last two dogs, Gypsy and Jazz.

We have an automatic dog door that i installed into our wall. The dogs wear a magnet on their collar and when they approach the door, a sensor detects the magnet and the door opens and lets them outside. Well, occasionally the door will open by itself for no apparent reason. There are things that set it off... for example a broom I have sets it off when I sweep near the door and we have one of those plug in fireplaces and when you turn it off it activates the door. However, there are times when there is nobody around, the fireplace is off and it opens by itself... and once in a while I sear I hear paws walk across the floor.

When you have a dog for a long time, you learn their sounds... Gypsy and Jazz had a distinct sound when they walked and their tags on their collar had their one particular sounds... and sometimes I swear I hear them. We have two dogs right now and each has their own sounds, we've learned them, what we hear occasionally are distinctly Gypsy's or Jazz's sounds. Anyone else have phantom visits by their old pets?

Interesting story.

One of our favorites was a white, furry half-Himalyan named "KC". His presence in our house throughout the years had been so close to human that when he passed, we laid him to rest under a customized stone marker. A few days before the first anniversary of his death, a white cat that could have been his doppelganger appeared in the neighborhood. The cat frequented KC's marker for a short time, never having a thing to do with us or the food we kept out for other pets. "He" then disappeared soon thereafter.
