I'm wondering what you guys think about the Phil Scheider story. I was blown away by his lectures when I first got to see them and found it entirely believeable at face value. Then there is the shady events surrounding his death, and his ex wife's seemingly genuine campaigne for justice. I've tried digging up on him a couple of times- looking for newspaper articles about the death or even more to the point info on employment credentials and things along this line, but have never found anything. I also remember seeing in one of the videos he had potographs and a bunch of items, some of which he claimed to be alien materials. I think they 'disappeared', but were there any researchers doing the rounds today that attended one of these lectures and maybe got a good look at some of his evidence?

I've heard his name mentioned in passing on both Paracast and Dark matters episodes, and I get the feeling he's not regarded in the best light, but I think it would be interesting to hear what the forum has on Mr. Schneider.

Personally I was interested in Scheider's claims and especially as he came to them from a construction point of view, not the usual 'in' for these type of whistleblowers. I first saw a youtube vid of him giving a lecture, the one you refer to, and I found a lot of it intriguing, until really the whole gunfight with the alien deal. Now, I am someone pretty convinced of the reality of UFOs and some of them being absolutely not man-made so it should not be a great leap to expect various far-out events have indeed happened over the years. But Dulce seems to be a total dead-end?
As far as I can make out, he did die in a pretty unusual way and although a bit like Bill Cooper, I've heard Scheider being made out to be some great trailblazer in bringin' out the info, he doesn't really get much of a mention these days. I suppose quite simply that he is not around to question and there isn't much material available on him and let's just suppose for a second his claims were true, the powers behind the scenes will have had ample time to try and implement any damage control they can in relation to what he 'revealed'. Am I right in thinking too that he pretty much predicted that he'd be 'taken out'?

I think he will remain an enigma, one of many in this crazy field.

You mean Schneider, right? As far as I know, no one ever got to handle his alien artifacts for any length of time, and his Dulce claims were never proven.
He and Al Bielek used to lecture together. I'd love to hear them together in the same room.
There's some pretty weird stuff about him on the net if you search 90's archives... he seemed pretty strange regardless of MagLev trains, Deep Underground Military Bases (Dumbs), his use of a Walther PPK on "one of those stinkin' aliens" during the Battle of Dulce, and so on.
He's famous (in my household) for the saying (regarding the attitude of the NWO toward the People):
"We're considered less than mo-RONS. (long pause) Morons."
Priceless quotes, inimitable manner, a true original, like Cooper. He's a hoot to listen to on the proper evening. The lectures are, or were, all over YT.

The Dulce battle claims were sensational, as was his apparent injuries as a result. There were also other statements that were a bit out there- I recall his description of Valiant Thor as being an 8ft humanoid and something about reptillians (I think), but there was just something about him that I found intriguinely genuine.

I was sent a message about Greg Valdez's new book 'Dulce Base' in which he dismisses Schneiders story as pure fantasy- stating that his creditials could never be substantiated, which may be the case, but given the nature of his testimony and how sentitive such a subject might be for those concerned, surely it wouldn't be so difficult to manipulate as part of a cover up? Perhaps more has went on in Dulce than anywhere else and there in might lie a higher priority to keep activities covered up.
I'm not saying I believe the story whole heartedly but It definitely presents a challenge.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Fascinating story, but due to the lack of any form of concrete evidence and the extreme nature of some of his claims - I've filed it under "unlikely".

RNE, I find the claims fascinating as well, the only problem is (well, ONE of the problems), is Dulce itself.

I haven't been there, but I live nearby, and there just... well, I know the southwest pretty well. I can't imagine for the
life of me there's anything underneath Dulce mesa. I'll discuss this more after dinner... Cheers. Rz

OK.... the thing is, it's rather like the problems of the Aztec NM case that Gene and Chris have been admirably spelling out for PCast listeners these days. Dulce is very much like Aztec, if not more remote. New Mexico is a place full of weird energy, and I read, for example, M. Scott Momaday's (sic?) tales of ghosts in pueblos and so on with total interest. But a multi-level base, like the one Schneider describes, underneath the Archuletta mesa? I just don't see how you pull that off without someone knowing about it. The arguments about the nature of small towns, again, which have been on the PCast and rightly so, apply to more than just Aztec. The Southwest USA has its own culture, or cultures -- AZ is totally different to NM, and I'm from AZ. Nevertheless, we are, even in a city like the one I inhabit in Pima County, fairly provincial, and still talk gossip a ton of the time. There's no way to clear land for, much less build, a ten-to-twenty level underground base in rural SW USA without someone knowing about it. [Sensing the Area 51 issue, I will retreat... yes, they got away with that one. I'm curious how many ranchers were around there, versus AZ/NM... Nevertheless, I have issues with everything Schneider and Al Bielek claimed. I think Lear inspired them. Rizla Out.]

[In this area, one of your friends will have a friend who's a contractor, even on the weirdest projects. I assume it's the same in York or Beck Hole. Yes, I've had real ale at the Birch Hall Inn in Beck Hole... curious where you're from, RNE. Best wishes.]

And as someone pointed out, I forget who - where is the garbage taken out in these places? Of course such a thing could be done secretly but big facilities take a lot of looking after, lots of coming and going and 3rd party workers in and out. It would be extremely difficult to hide all of that from locals. Perhaps not impossible, but difficult.

Mr. Prime, thank you for the "stinkin' aliens" ref... Goggs, you rock, always. Now...
I was actually in the general area of Dulce last year, and saw something strange... but it was a (triangle-shaped) _aircraft_ ... Yes, the US Gov. are flying strange things around in northern NM... however...
The guy you're thinking about, Goggs, is J. Vallee, and he's totally right. There's a great new book on Dulce, written by the son of the police chief who handled all the Archuletta Mesa/Mtn stuff..."Dulce Base" by Greg Valdez... basically, he concludes that there was certainly weird Air Force sh*te going on in that area, and from my own sighting I'm compelled to agree... but no base, no aliens, etc. Valdez gives a great history of the god-awful nuke tests in the area, which may be associated with the cattle mutes... Anyhow email me if you want more info. Skol, Rizla.

p/s I notice that Valdez's book was mentioned earlier... I encourage anyone interested in this subject to get it. It's great. The author has no axe to grind, and sticks to the facts, ma'am. I wish all UFO books were so well written. Check it out!
