Well I was thinking I could do some thing fun here and post our oldish set list for our shows we are planing for latter this year and get you guys to tell me what you think:) I have been tinkering with this but not sure I am happy with the way the songs flow.

One hell of a lot of planing goes into even one show but we do two different sets depending on the show and where we play, either way once we start rehearsals the set is locked in place for better or worse or our video and sound guys would kill me if I changed it at that point.
So I get one chance to change things before we hit it and start all the real work.
We have been on a year and a half break from it all so everyone is itching to do it all again (ah so quickly they all forget how full on it all is).

This is the "Wish you were here show", we also do a "Dark side of the moon" show but that one due to all the video FX etc is a very fixed show and shorter than this one as it only has two sets (well sort of shorter as the first set is longer and we play Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell after the Dark side and that's it)

The one you see here is up for re-arranging so hit me with ideas and tell me what you think.
Rehearsals start in eight weeks time again if all works to plan. Got a new keyboard play on the team so he has got one hell of an evil job ahead :D

Are you part of the "Pink Floyd Experience" or what is your thing? Can you link to a video or promo page?

we are the Pink Floyd Project which is a slightly smaller operation than the Experience (those guys have a bigger promotion budget than us... for now).
I will get the Bass player to link me the old promotions page as to be frank I do not know the link as I do not deal with that side of things. Yeah lame I know but I never really gave it much thought as my end of things is the music and the technical aspects not the get bums on seats end of it all.

I think there is a very old YouTube page and defunct Myspace page as well. Again I do not know but I can ask and link as I guess I should know that stuff.

Here are some photos from my collection that our photographer took of a smallish show (450 people), I liked this show as it was all tight and close and a great club atmosphere.

PS: I sent our Video Engineer a text asking if he had some live video from some of the bigger show I could grab so let you know. I know he did record some stuff for promotional reasons so there will be some I can post here.

Well I got a message back.. "Yeah I do but what do you want it for? and we don't want you going and posting it in random places" lol ok I will work on it.
I think I just got told to stick to guitar and to keep my nose out of that end of things.

Hey very cool, I used to play a bit of guitar myself and I have a hawaiian stand up on three legs. It's a classic Guyatone ... looks like this one ( not my pic ):

I'll reflect a bit on your set list and get back to you! BTW: I'm sure you must have the Pulse video right?

Oh man that is a beautiful instrument!!!
You can see me playing my pedal steel in the top photo.. No other way to play One of these days or shine on you crazy diamond part six solo :D

Oh and yes I have the pulse video and bootlegs galore lol of all kinds of shows of floyd

Lol he has the Fillmore West show.. that's a very good show that one

I don't see Keep Talking in the list. It would be a bit of a challenge to get
Hawking's voice in there and that Guitar vocalizer solo could get messy,
but what a great tune.

Ouch that is a hard one to pall off live but it could be done. I know how to play it but the band has never done it.

Hey ... you've got Echoes on the list ... I used to trip out on that before I'd ever even tried drugs ... seriously ... what an incredible piece. So if you can pull that one off you've got what it takes I'm sure!

@Stoneheart - great stuff. i'll bet you get the greatest buzz playing those songs live. i play guitar too and used to think i would suffer from crippling stagefright. when in the navy, i was railroaded into playing a few gigs for a 80's cover band.
my first ever gig in front of people, aged 32, was in front of about 300 senior NCO's who were mostly my superiors.
the three of us in the band got £300 each for two 45 min sets. the funny thing is, i would have played for free, had i known how much i was gonna love playing live! on the spot we were asked to play at weddings etc and we did xmas gigs on the base etc.

anyway, enough about me stoneheart. one frustrated musician to a musician - does your floyd set play stuff note for note or is there a bit of artistic licence?

i am sold on the sets - the wall was my intro to floyd whilst animals is my fav album. good to see a nice bit of animals there. have you seen on youtube roger waters playing 'dogs' with some other guy doing daves guitar? think it's from the 90's. great anyway.

i think a really good track is 'summer of 69' though it may be hard to get all the brass in there?

Its addictive playing live and personally its an honor to get to play these songs live.

I have that video here in my collection and Dogs next to Shine on has to be my two most loved Floyd songs and as for do we play stuff note for note the answer is yes but not all songs. Stuff like Echoes and Cymbeline etc gives space to do old school Floyd jams but others like Shine on and say Time are fixed as for some reason people get upset if you change them to much.

Hmm summer of 69 I had not thought of that song and the brass can be sequenced and played as a click so it could be done.
