I realize that many of you don't spend much time worrying about which browser to use, but the older versions of Microsoft's Internet Explorer, versions 6 and 7, are notorious for being buggy, malware-prone and, worse, they render Web pages poorly. That includes these forums, and some parts of our site might be out of position in different ways.

We are soon going to put up warnings for Internet Explorer 6 users to upgrade. This browser dates back to the early 2000s, and times have changed.

If you still like Microsoft's product, go ahead and upgrade to Internet Explorer 8, which is their best, safest version.

I personally recommend Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari (from Apple) or Opera. Yes, Safari is available for Windows users too. All these browsers are far, far better than anything Microsoft offers, which is why Internet Explorer continues to lose market share.

I personally never use Internet Exploder...Chrome is a good choice (loads very fast)....Firefox is good as long as it is not loaded down with add ons.

Gene,
You're such an Apple fanboy :)

Seriously though, I work in a PC environment and people still use Explorer 7 or 8. I use Chrome at work, having recently switched to it from Firefox. On my imac at home, I use Chrome and my wife uses Firefox. I also use Safari sometimes.

The new Safari is worth trying — on both platforms.

Remember, too, that Chrome uses the same rendering engine as Safari. :)
