You may or may not be aware that for some time now Col Charles Halt and Gary hesletine (Prufos) have been working together. I received this e mail today after speaking with Gary yesterday at the Leeds Exopolitics conference.

This is the press release statement.

PRESS RELEASE

COLONEL CHARLES HALT
(RET) AND THE RENDLESHAM FOREST UFO INCIDENT

I wish to announce that for the last 19 months I have been writing a feature length film script in collaboration with Colonel Charles Halt (Ret) based on the events that occurred during the Christmas period 1980 at the United States Air Force twin base complex of RAF BENTWATERS and WOODBRIDGE where he served as the Deputy Base Commander.

Our collaboration began in December 2007 after a chance meeting while working on a documentary programme about those events that have become collectively known as ‘the Rendlesham Forest incident’ and regarded by many as the most important UFO case since the Roswell incident in 1947.

Initially I spent four months reviewing all the known material before approaching the Colonel with a long list of questions about his involvement and his thoughts about what happened to some of the witnesses afterwards.

I believe the resultant script contains the most accurate timeline yet produced and Colonel Halt fully endorses its content that is based on his personal involvement in the proceedings, the known events involving other witnesses and on his genuine belief that several of the military witnesses were the victims of psychological manipulation after their respective sightings.

The script will leave no-one in doubt as to the merits of those events that occurred over several nights in December 1980.

Colonel Halt wishes to make the following statement,
“I wish to make it perfectly clear that the UFOs I saw were structured machines moving under intelligent control and operating beyond the realm of anything I have ever seen before or since. I believe the objects that I saw at close quarter were extraterrestrial in origin and that the security services of both the United States and England were and have been complicit in trying to subvert the significance of what occurred at Rendlesham by use of well practiced methods of disinformation.

I believe Gary’s script will lift a veil of secrecy about what really happened at Rendlesham, events that were and still are of tremendous defense significance to the United Kingdom and indeed the rest of the world.”

The Colonel and I invite interested film parties to contact us for further information.

One little point: like many Americans Col. Halt appears to have trouble with the fact that "England" doesn't actually have any security services per se, and has not had for several hundred years.
Britain and England are not the same place.

I know that's irrelevant carping but it really is in the same league as calling the Czech Republic Czechoslovakia (even if the error lies in the opposite direction).
 
So Col. Halt's gonna make some money. Interesting. I suppose his movie will feature Larry Warren in the lead role? /sarcasm
 
Maybe he could interest M. Night Shyamalan in it. Shyamalan certainly needs to start looking at other people's scripts. Speaking of which, what happened to that guy? He was doing so well until he began fixating on Ron Howard's daughter.

That's odd. I just looked clear through this web site. I believe I hit every page on there, though I did not follow links off-site. I can't find this press release. Further, the site appears to be inactive. The latest article on it was written in March of 2008. Theer are only 27 articles on the site, which appears to have been most active in 2007.
 
When you enter the site, move to the navigation area and look for forums. This board is solely devoted to RFIs. It may be closing down at the end of the year.
 
This is totally off topic but has anyone noticed the M. Night Shyamalan films are basically all the same? I loved his first film but he tends to end his films the same way I'd end stories when I was 10 "And then I woke up". His endings are just too predictable.

I'd love to have a fraction of his budget for the production I'm working on at the moment.

I found this posting on the RFI board. It may have been posted over three years ago.

Other people on the base have reported seeing bright lights/objects hovering over Rendlesham Forest during the incident. Some say that the UFOs were up there for hours.

Sgt. Randy Smith was at the RAF Bentwaters Weapons Storage Area, this is some of his account. Smith contacted UFO sceptic James Easton, these extracts are taken from his "Pulsar Newsletter, #4".

It was a very quiet night, no planes, no helicopters flying.
Clarence George came by to talk to me and he said that
everyone in the WSA was in the SPCDS tower watching 'lights'
and did I want to come check it out? So I did. Clarence
thought they were all crazy. It's a small tower and people
were jammed in there body to body, overloading the tower I'm
sure. More people than I've ever seen in the tower at one
time.

"I asked what everyone was looking at and they pointed out 3
objects that appeared like stars to the naked eye. Binoculars
were being passed around and when I had my turn I saw VERY
CLEAR images of 3 triangular shaped craft that were hovering a
few miles away and above treetop level".

"They were triangular in shape, larger than a fighter jet, but
smaller than a C5. Definitely triangular with lights that were
arranged around the bottom that were perhaps different colors
but unable to distinguish at that distance. I only stayed in
the tower for an hour or so and heard one of the guys with a
turn on the binoculars say, 'Wow, it just took off'. Two of
the craft left at a high rate of speed. The one remaining
craft was still in position when I left the tower".

"Regarding sound-very quiet, no motor sounds whatsoever".



Sgt. Rick Bobo was stationed in the Bentwaters Control Tower, he claims to have seen UFOs hovering over Rendlesham Forest. He thinks this happened on the 29th.
He says there was a huge 'ship' over Rendlesham Forest, with red and blue lights and that it was over Rendlesham Forest for five hours!

Open Letter to Colonel Halt from TSgt. Burroughs

Dear Colonel Halt,

How does it feel to be known as the UFO Colonel? To be told all you saw was a lighthouse, stars or planets in the night sky. How does is feel to have no one in your circle of command step forward and support you in what happened? How does that feel?

I have a few questions that I would be most gracious if you could answer. In a recent interview with Gary Heseltine, you stated you went out to the area where the first night's incident happened to conduct an investigation. How did you find that area in the dark? Everybody on duty during your outing into the forest was not working during our incident (25th in 26th). How did you know where to look if you or no one else conducted any kind of investigation?

How can you say you were never brought in and question about the incident? According to you General Williams talked to you about it, went to his bosses about it, General Gabriel was briefed on it by Williams and you were told to write a memo and give it to the British. You also stated something happened inside the WSA with beams of light coming down into it. So after all of this, nobody from OSI or higher wanted to talked to you about it?

We were all brought in and interrogated by OSI on Major Zickler's orders, not on the Base Commander or Wing Commanders orders. I can't understand how all of the official reports disappeared and nothing was done about it. General Williams said he didn't know you wrote the memo and never would have allowed it to be sent out to the British because there were things in it that "we could not defend." Is he saying he knew about the incident and would never have informed the British Government about it? We had an international incident take place on somebody else's territory, involving a weapons storage area and nobody wanted to talk to you about it?

General Williams acts like he was never involved yet said something happened to us. It appears you and everybody else in your party was never questions about the incident, but we were brought in and worked over by the OSI under Major Zickler orders - Why?

Gary Heseltine stated he told you, you are the one who will go down as writing the memo and you need to go on the record on what it was you saw. Was it really an Extraterrestrial craft or was it something that our government was doing that we accidently got involved with? Were you then briefed on it and told to write a memo about what really happened to us but with incorrect dates?

Over the years you have dropped certain hints about it being a military project and never anything about it being an Extraterrestrial event. Were you picked to be the scape goat on this to say it was of ET origin if anybody got to close to what it was? How can a chain of command all say they had nothing to do with the incident handle the incident the way they said they did at a front line NATO base - and still be left in charge?

- Or are you now trying to force the people in charge to come clean on what happened to us by playing the ‘alien card’, hoping they will finally support a front line officer who, along with his men, were just trying to do there job?
