Quality UFO Footage - Near San Diego California May 2013

Free episodes:

Her camera broke? It's not a terrible picture of something though. I find I have taken pictures of airplanes that look like that from a certain angle. Still, at least she managed a picture of what she saw.

Interesting clip. There seems to be a lot of correlation between different phenomena occurring in the same place. The average Joe type people in the video seem to laugh at that, but I'm not so sure it's pure luck.

I'm curious what others here who are more experienced at spotting hoaxes have to say about the footage. It certainly appeared solid and didn't look like a bug (or the blur of a bug/bird). My first thought was a blimp but it just doesn't seem to fit that possibility. And the woman staying anonymous kind of eliminates the idea that she was looking to gain something.

I'm also curious about the camera breaking. They briefly mentioned it but didn't go into detail. Do they mean she accidentally broke the camera (maybe dropped it in surprise when she saw what she had captured ;) ) or do they mean it simply broke on its own just...randomly with no explainable damage? If I was her, I would try to find someone who repairs cameras and have them take a look to see if they can identify what specifically went wrong.'

Also, if she wants to stay anonymous then she might not want to wear such a distinctive hat. Maybe a ski mask would have been a better choice. :D

And how cute, they made the reporter disappear.

Are those the airplanes that can hover motionless in the air so that the photograph does not have a motion blur. Those amazing hovering airplanes? wow

Let me explain a little further. She probably used a point and shoot camera of some kind, probably on automatic, which in the daylight set a pretty fast shutter speed, which resulted in little to no motion blur.
I'm not saying that she absolutely saw an airplane, but in the right conditions, an airplane can look like that. They also said that there's a lot of air traffic in that area.

Angelo, I see what you are saying but in the pics you shared, it's obvious it's an airplane. I'm not seeing the telltale signs in the news video. Not saying you're wrong, just saying I wouldn't call that a definite explanation just yet. :) You would think there would be some kind of protrusion (tail, wing, etc.) like we can see in most airplane photos. Even in the 2nd one you shared, I can see wings and a tail despite the distance and small size.

If it turns out to be conventional, then I could see how easily it could be mistaken for something unexplained. In the meantime, it's an interesting news story. I would be curious to know if anyone else has any strange photos from around the barn that they were not previously willing to share (or if more are taken in coming weeks if the object returns).

For sure - I am not saying that it IS an airplane, but it could be. I've seen airplanes look like that in the daylight quite often because my daily commute takes me under a flight path. With only one picture, I'm just going with the most obvious answer. It doesn't mean it's the right one. The fact that the barn is under a flight path helps this hypothesis.
I posted the pictures because RygyWa said there would be motion blur if it was an airplane. I just wanted to point out that you can take pictures of airplanes in flight without motion blur.

I would have to agree, then. :)

I'm leaning towards the notion that it may be either a blimp or an airplane tilted in such a way that its wings appear in front of its body and thus you cannot see them.

We don't have enough information from the witness to rule out a conventional aircraft. The newscaster said the object was hovering. However that might simply be something the newscaster made up to describe what it looked like in the photo. A close-up of the image with some minor contrast enhancement makes it look like a classic WW2 aircraft. There was a classic air show taking place further south near San Diego. Given the proximity to an airport, the presence of such aircraft in the vicinity, and no further details from the witness on how the object performed, the most reasonable explanation is a classic WW2 aircraft with camouflage paint.

Not a perfect photo analysis, but you can get the idea.
