Robbins is best known as a co-author of the excellent book about the 1980 Rendlesham Case:Left at East Gate: A First-Hand Account of the Rendlesham Forest UFO Incident, Its Cover-up, and Investigationco-written with Larry Warren and Budd Hopkins. We will be interviewing him next Thursday morning. Please post your questions here.

Robbins also worked closely w/ Budd Hopkins' Intruders Foundation for many years and we will be talking about Hopkins' work as well as gaining insight from Peter about the abduction mystery and the factors surrounding a "UFO disclosure" process. One of ufology's most eloquent speakers he is also featured in the recently released Disclosure Dialogues 5 DVD set that I edited this past spring where he spoke at length about the role of the media in the so-called "UFO cover-up/truth embargo."

Hi Chris,
My question deals with what seems to be the sullying of the Rendlesham Forest incident. I believe that the personalities involved are beginning to degrade the event. To me, when you have possibly the best UFO encounter of all time, it now seems to have all of the principals involved starting to turn on each other? I must admit that I really can't believe how everyone is going after Charles Halt. Now don't get me wrong, I am sure he is no angel in this case. But this is the guy who had the tape. This is the guy who wrote the report. This is the guy who actually came forward first in my view.

And I am not saying anything bad about Larry Warren, Penniston, Burroughs , or anyone else, for that matter. But why Jim Penniston would bring that binary code stuff up right now is a head scratch-er. That's for sure.

I guess my question is - are these guys starting to crack under some unseen pressure?

I would love to hear Peter's thoughts on that.

Peter is a great guest on any show I have ever heard him on.

I agree with Ondafritz, when I saw his pad with those '0' and 'I' notepad scratchings page after page, I began to wonder of his credibility -- or his source's aliens' credibility. As a possible follow-up, when was Mr. Robbins aware of these notes and does he think there is any reason or basis for this information being given to Penniston -- as it is useless without knowing what it means. Of course if Ondafritz' question is answered by, "Yes, they are turning into crackpots..." my question is moot.

Did the accounts of the different levels of encounters with craft surface simultaneously, or did they develop and unfold over a long period of time?

Ok, lemme try with a couple of questions:

1. What is his opinion on the current state of abduction research? Especially regarding recent events - the Jacobs-Woods and the Hopkins-Rainey episodes - where two of the most prominent researchers' work got pretty shaken? How does he feel about these events and the questions that have been raised - for example - is Hopkins to be blamed for being sloppy and not careful enough in the case of Jim Mortellaro? Is there a need to reevaluate the work of Budd Hopkins?

2. Does he feel that the abduction phenomenon is real? During his tenure with the Intruders Foundation - was he ever exposed to some form of more rigid evidence: for example, a police report which confirms that an alleged abductee was reported as missing by others at the time of a supposed abduction? Or a professional opinion by an MD regarding the scoop-marks and a missing fetus?

3. How does he feel about the future of abduction research? Is there any hope of gaining scientific attention now that both John Mack and Budd Hopkins have departed? In his opinion, are there any researchers capable of carrying out an unbiased, dedicated and debunker-proof research into the phenomenon or is the field left at the mercy of the likes of Derrel Sims and similar dubious characters?

What does he think of the Travis Walton case?Does he believe it was a hoax or does he believe Travis really was taken? What is his opinion of Whitley Strieber and his abduction accounts? And in his opinion what are the best abduction cases to date? Thank you

A question for Peter,

In one of your interviews of Col. Halt in "Left At East Gate", you quote him as mentioning "strange things that have been under study for a long time", and "people who can do things that you would not believe" in relation to high strangeness and possible confusion experienced by witnesses at Rendlesham.
Have you looked further into Col. Halt's statements on this subject? Do you know more specifically what he might have meant?

Thanks.

Hi Gene, Chris & Mr Peter Robbins,

Q.1 Mr Peter Robbins : what was the weather conditions at the time of the UFO event Rendlesham Military Base. In addition, did you hear of any other incidents regarding UFO sightings in the rest of Britain during the time of Rendlesham event?

Q.2 Mr Peter Robbins: were their any military exercise ongoing during that time near by and was there any nuclear war fallout shelters & drainage systems under the location of the UFO encounter?
