Ever notice how a large percentage of alien abduction/contact reports involve entities standing in doorways/coming out of closets/appearing at the end of a hallway/peering through a window, etc? Makes me wonder. Yeah, I know there are also reports of entities appearing out of thin air or phasing through walls but they seem to be in the minority.

Could it be there's some reason for this, perhaps something psychological that they "latch" on to? I mean we don't see doorways as just rectangular holes in the wall (which in truth is all they are), we think of them as connections between one area and another (eg "the closet door", "the door into the hallway", etc). Are the entities able to tap into and exploit this notion of connectivity to literally make a doorway between where ever they are and us?

That would support the theory that they are other-dimensional. What is subjective or imagined for us is quite concrete for them. Or if they are of this world., they might telepathically home in on our fears/desires like beacons on a navigational array.

So., are they the original Boogymen?

I think it is in Mans nature to be afraid of the Dark. We were not Always top of the Food Chain.

I can visualise a Clan of Prehistoric People coming across a seemingly Empty large Cave. Its possible that they didnt bother to investigate its dark and dank bowels instead they lit their fires near the entrance ?

Or maybe they were smart enough to pile some brush into the entrance., set it to smoking with wet leaves., flush that bear out., and eat him.
 
We don't see them when they look at us through walls. So, of course the reports might seem less.

But having said that. Even though there are cars, people still walk. Maybe Aliens still do old fashioned things too.
