Hello,
the last two Paracasts episode have been great (Don Ecker & G Knapp), its nice to see such professional and qualifed guests on the show.
I share there views and strongily believe that Disclosure is a work of fiction, unless there is a dramatic event on or near this planet.
As for reverse engineering downed craft, I think it may be possible to reverse engineer some of there technology. But as here on earth, we have different cultures with different levels of technologies. eg Some Nomads travelling in the desert around 100 years ago who suddenly found a B2 Bomber wouldnt have a clue how to open the crew door.
Every year we find new extra solar system planets, the chance of finding life also go up as our understanding of the universe expands.
It stands to reason, that they are cultures out travelling amongst the stars, who have different levels of technologies. We could understand some of there technologies, whilst the rest of it could be a millions years ahead of us.

The Paracast need to talk to Nick COok, The Hunt for Zero Point author, he is writtng a sequel. he has spend his life looking for special avaition technologies, i can think of no better and more believeable guest for the show.

Keep up the good work

M

Nick Cook's documentaries (UFO The secret evidence and Billion dollar secret) have their problems, in that the producer does not have consultants on technology issues.

E.g. when Nick Cook talks to Boyd Bushman, the latter is either joking with him or has gone senile, as he demonstrates the Lenz effect as some form of anti-gravity! Or his interpretation of the Gulf Breeze photos.

Obviously Cooks video work has issues, because its not really for us. Its for a more mainstream audience with little to exposure to this stuff.

However his book is great. He has been suggested as a guest here before, but I imagine hes not the easiest guest to get.

Well, the reason I take issue with Nick Cook's work, is exactly because it has been broadcast in most countries which brought his ideas to the general populous.

He has managed to (IMHO) mislead many people who have a casual interest in UFOs, into believing that UFOs might in fact be derived from secret Nazi "anti-gravity" technology. While he doesn't say this outright (as far as I remember because it's been a couple of years since I watched them), he argues in an elliptical way towards this idea.

Not to even mention that his documentaries have inacccuracies in basic facts (e.g. the Zamora UFO is re-created as a noisy disk), or the bogus stuff like Bushman's "anti-gravity" demonstration of the Lenz effect, which anyone with even a high-school level knowledge of Physics should have caught.

If Paracast wants to have a UFO documentarian, why not Canadian film-maker David Cherniack ?

Have you read his book? I get the sense you havent read it (sorry if you have). The reason I say that is his book is what he is known for, more than his documentaries.

You might be right about him misleading people into thinking secret Nazi tech is responsible for the UFO phenomenon. But if this is what has happened I dont think it was intentional.

His whole area of interest is propulsion, and whether or not human have anti-grav propulsion. And in the pursuit of that knowledge if it looks like he is trying to pass off the whole UFO phenomenon onto any strands of possible anti-grav tech from Earth, I think that is an unintentional side effect.

Gareth, no I haven't read his book, but I've read reviews / recaps of his book and watched his subsequent (Secret Evidence) documentary.

His whole area of interest is propulsion, and whether or not human have anti-grav propulsion.

Quoting from his bio "Cook has a degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies from Exeter University". The issue is that this fellow simply doesn't have the background to be able to separate the wheat from the chaff, which is painfully evident throughout his work.

I've given some examples earlier, I can offer many more. e.g. Cook's documentary also covers the "Lifter" (ionocraft Wikimedia Error ) as somehow related to the "anti-gravity" concept ...

BTW I don't imply that Nick Cook is muddying the waters on purpose. Although others, e.g. the webmaster of ufodna seems to go as far as to label it "disinfo" Zero Point and All That

PS: I'd hope that anyone interested in "consumer protection" or getting to the bottom of the UFO question, would first try expose the weaknesses of this kind of stuff which afterall is fed to millions of viewers via MSM, rather than targeting the marginal people.

Hmmm. You might be onto something. Although Im not convinced yet.

He is an aviation writer for Janes Defence Weekly. He has done this for many years. This is enough for me as far as experience and knowledge of the subject. Way more than any 'ufologist'.

I must admit, Nick Cook as dis-info artist is an interesting thought that never would have occurred to me. (I expect if I had seen his docos before reading his book I may have a similar attitude as you.)

Can I suggest that you read his book? It really is quite short and youll knock it over pretty quick. Then let me know what you think, whether your mind has been changed at all or if you are still not convinced.

I bumped into him at an airshow. he is very well connected and he is a very honest person. I have read his book a couple of times and i do know he is working on a sequel to the Zero Point.
His TV exploits have also been edited to make them more acceptable to the general public, but if you read his published works, he seems to do all his research and tries his best to do all the due diligence.
Lets face its, you want to understand a subject, you need to know what makes things work. Without a propulsion system, how would they get here?. Besides, the Proplusion system is what holding the human race bacl. If you look at Airliners of today, they basically do the same thing as the Airliners of 50 years ago did. There has been very small increases in performance eg power, range, thrust. We may be using new materials, but the basic theory of the jet engine is the same. Sometimes you get the idea, that certain technologies are possible and maybe even available for us today, but they are being held back until the find the right application or time.

Nick Cook ... disinfo?? Nahh don't be silly. If you've read the Hunt for Zero Point its clear he's fairly damn honest.

Anyway, I don't see the problem with the whole Nazi UFO thing. If you've read any of Joseph Farrell's work, you'll see that the Nazis were miles ahead of the Allies in many areas of technology, and were looking into things that were frankly mindboggling and in some cases very scary.

Anyhow I came across this website a couple of days ago which looks at some of the aircraft that were designed or built by the Germans earlier in the 20th Century.

Some of the designs look stunningly modern. So I don't think its that much of a leap from the designs shown here (see link below) and circular aircraft.

That Nick Cook, as a journalist, might seem "well-connected" and honest is quite irrelevant to the fact that (as clearly demonstrated in his documentaries) he lacks basic knowledge, which would allow him to separate wheat from chaff.

For example, financial news journalists might be "well-connected" (i.e. socialize with CEOs or other hotshots) and honest, however nobody in their right mind should take their financial advice to buy or sell assets or let them run a fund. Jon Stewart demonstrated this point fairly recently :-)

Btw, I don't dislike Nick Cook, it's just that he's adding to the noise in the UFO field.

PS: I happen to speak German and I've devoted some time looking into supposed papers supporing the "Nazi saucers" mythology and IMHO it's all bunk.
