What an un-freakin'-believable waste of....well,everything.

Wouldn't the money, man power, time, and effort be put to MUCH better use by doing, I don't know, ...maybe anything else?

Like weather proofing and fixing up elderly peoples homes? Or low income family homes?
Or maybe stocking up food banks all across the country? How about paying for doctors to travel to third world countries to do surgery for free like on cleft palates or other medical needs? Why not help feed some of those people too while they are at it? There is no end to the actual good things they could do, things that would really impact and make a difference in peoples lives.
And they are throwing it all away on recreating some stupid, idiotic recreation of a myth. A myth that any common rational thinking person KNOWS is just a myth, at best a metaphor. Just because they are trying to cover up the internal doubts they have about their own religion.
Yeah it's their money and they can do what they want too, but it's shit like this that I point out when people ask me why I have no patience with Fundamentalists.
 
Not wanting to get you any more riled up than you are. Buuut, I wouldn't expend a whole lot of energy worrying about something I thought was an absolute myth. Adults are gonna do what they wanna do. Have you ever bought a movie online? Well, you could have contributed to a homeless shelter instead. Ever drove fast? Well, you wasted a lot of gas. Ever paid money for a concert? Ever just wasted a day doing nothing? You are an adult. You cna get together with like minded folks and put your resources wherever you want to. Please don't give me the "well they are wasting blah,blah,blah." One man's waste of time and money is another man's passion." Now, don't get mad cause I know this sounds smart assed of me. But I honestly don't mean it to be. I honestly don't send my money and energy to psychics or to t.v. evangelist. I don't spend my time and money helping James Randi beat back the hordes of superstious idiots. (Hell, I'm sure he would call me a supestious idiot. but, I don't care.) Anyway, people put their time and energy where they wanna put it. It's not like they will all of a sudden say "Gee, I think I'll give to charity if I can't build the ark." :-) Anyway, have a good one and I hope I haven't offended you. But, then again does it really matter? :-)
 
On the bright side, anyone that clambers aboard the good ship 'Ark' can't help but realise it's totally impossible to squeeze a few hundred thousand pairs of birds, bugs and animals on the damn thing. Maybe some small percentage will have a double-take 'GTFO' moment and begin to wonder if that whole Genesis and Noah's Flood thing is just BS.

Another positive is if they're pissing away money on a knuckle-dragger's theme park, they've got less time and money to be forcing it into classrooms. Pretty cool!

Hopefully the first YT video of this anachronistic tumour on the arse end of the 21st Century will be good for laffs. Woot!

It alway's fascinates me when I hear about all the good that can be done with certain monies instead of described "folly". The same people aren't out today on Saturday helping feed the poor or cleaning a widows house, but have the energy to complain about misdeeds. Ironic ain't it.
 
Yeah I know my attitude towards this isn't realistic. I'm just a doe-eyed idealist.
And I hadn't thought about the positive side to this, so maybe things balance out.
