Thermionic Elitist (not Tube Snob)
That phrase has been coming up a lot lately and I like it.

So I'm wondering what you do when you come across someone with what sounds like a decent theory or idea, then they start talking about the bible, ala Marzulli.

As a Libertarian-American, I support your right to believe whatever you like. This is not about your religion.

I just have trouble hearing ideas when Jesus or [insert religious icon] is every third word.
Marzulli was a perfect example. I didn't last long.

I heard all sorts of things about Bill Cooper so I checked out some video. He sounded like he was a preacher. Turned me right off. Sitchen, otoh, managed to be interesting and factual.

I'm not even saying they're wrong: just that I don't hear religious stories well.

You?

I was not able to finish listening to an interview of Guy Malone due to the religious/christian/bible/jesus references that peppered almost his every statement. I think that the UFO field is certainly expansive enough that examining it through only one single paradigm is not only severely limiting, but incredibly obtuse.

I wrote a lengthy rant about this on my on-again, off-again blog but suffice it to say that anyone who is trying to establish a proposition with me and uses the phrase "Well, in the Bible it says..." to preface a point has effectively lost the entire argument at that moment.

A 3000 year old book of fairytales does not a solid foundation make.

Sitchen is far from interesting or factual.

The bible, in my opinion, is an ancient comic book. Full of great stories, but nothing else.
