I wanted to let you all know that I spoke to Rich last nite (bbridges) as he was getting ready to go to bed. He had to be over at the hospital this AM in the wee hours and was number 01 on the Surgeon's list this AM. The procedure was to repair a torn muscle and remove a bit of bone (spur) that was impacting the muscle. He told me he would try to call me sometime later today to let me know how he was doing.

I just wanted to give you all a heads up on this and maybe you can send him a note for a fast recuperation.

Rich called early afternoon yesterday, was still pretty groggy. He did say that the procedure went pretty well and now he needs to get some rest. I will probably speak to him later today so I will let you know how he is doing.

Oops, Rich is doing pretty well. His arm is still in a sling but is healing pretty much the way the Doc wanted. I am sure Rich will see this and probably leave a note.

The one armed thing is awkward-typing, tying shoes, cutting up my food, pulling up my pants, my love life, and most difficult, sleeping for more than an hour or so. I think (hope)everything is healing at a good clip even though the sleep thing makes the nights seem interminable. On the upside, I spend a lot more time reading, and posting (some of you may have noticed that part), and meditating doggedly. That activity is quite a challenge as any regular practitioner will tell you. But I haven't been this focussed mentally in a long time. My productivity is way up, and my ability to handle the lack of rest is surprising. I also seem to be operating with greater intensity in all areas of my life. Given the overall, I am actually pleased that life provided this refreshing rebirth period, and I hope I can maintain this new intensity once the shoulder is healed. Thanks to all of you who have let me know you care. The paracast forum members are an exceptional bunch, and I count myself fortunate to have joined you all-and thanks, Gene and Chris for your work in providing such a quality forum experience, and to my bud, Don Ecker. p.s.-donations to my Lamborgini fund gratefully accepted.

I'm glad to hear you're OK. You're a big reason I love listening to
Dark Matters. You and Don riff really well off of each other.

And as a fellow meditator, I'm sure you know that it helps accelerate the healing process by kicking the parasympathetic division of the nervous system into overdrive. It can only help.

Hope to hear you and Don on Fridays again sooner than later. Take care.
