Perhaps the reason for so many 'ridiculous conspiracy theories' is that no one has been arrested or punished for those 9/11 crimes. If you spend billions on security and you can't round up those involved then you open yourself up to every theory on what happened.

I wouldn't blame the gullible or those who make up those theories. Rather, look to those who are supposed to protect this country. They couldn't or didn't want to round up those responsible.
