Many of you know that I am currently in the Air Force. I am deployed right now in Iraq (Southern Iraq). The base is called Tillil Air Base ( Wikimedia Error ). I'm writing this for one because..... well its boring here and it gives me something to do and kinda vent in a way I guess. Also I feel the public has forgotten we still have several thousand troop over here. I understand that we will be leaving Iraq at the end of this year ( lets wait and see if that actually happens ) but I'm here to tell you combat operations has not stopped here in Iraq. We my not be going around and kicking in doors like we were but we get attacked at least once a month and then go out and try to find'em. Well thanks for letting me vent and just post a small part of my thought tonight :)

I hope you make it home alive healthy and well. But if you or any other service member finds that you are a veteran in the civillian world who is not doing well, for whatever reason, go immediately to your nearest VA hospital. I understand that a lot of funds had been infused into establishing services for hurting vets that did not exist when I was hurting longterm and in desperate need of serious aid, in the early 2000s.

As a veteran myself man, I know where you're coming from...you just hang in there. It will be over one day and you will be home again. Keep writing on any forum you can find, and write snailmail letters. I remember that helping me out a lot.
If you don't have anyone to write too, I'd love to have a penpal. Just let me know on here and I'll private message you my address and you do the same.
Just keep breathing man, you can do this.

Hemi, I'm a former Marine and a veteran of the first Persian Gulf campaign. Let me tell you that not a day goes by when I don't think of you guys over there. Whether or not you're kicking in doors, you're still out there doing what you do best. You have my respect and my best wishes for a safe return. Thank you for what you do day after day.

Thank you all for your well wishes. To all my current and former military members thank you for all that you did and are doing. Once again the paracast has proven me wrong and quite obviously you all have not forgotten. Xylo, Simone_m, and exo_doc, thank you for laying the foundation for me to be able to be doing what I am doing right now. Thank you my friends.

019.jpg This is myself and a Uganda Guard. He was taken from his mother at a very early age and was forced to become a child soldier. He saw more war than anyone should have. I thought you all might enjoy seeing a picture or to. He is only making $2000 dollars a year from the company that is contracting him. I have to say though he is one of the nicest and funnest people I have ever met. He felt it an honor to have his picture taken with me. I hope life treats him well when he leaves Iraq.
