ROTFLMAO x 100 The Veritas Show is charging for episodes now

Free episodes:

Gareth

Nothin' to see here
So get this, the Veritas Show is now charging $15/3months for a subscription in order to listen to their interviews. Im not sure if many have even heard of that show, and I only really first heard of it last week.

Its hosted by 1 guy, named Mel Fabregas, and he started in December last year. And basically he seems like an intelligent guy, and asks pretty good questions. But I dont know if hes really new to this field or something, but he thinks he can get away with charging 5bux a month for podcasts in a field OVER SATURATED WITH PODCASTS!! lol

At this point youre probably wondering I bothered to make a thread about this. Well I heard his Austin Fitts interview last week, and his latest interview is with one of my fav persons in the UFO field, James Fox. I get 40mins into the Fox interview and Im told I have to subscribe to hear the rest.

Wanna know who else he has interviewed?

Have a look at this recent lineup of guests:

The Veritas Show with Mel Fabregas

Some highlights include -

Paola Harris
Steve Bassett
Clifford Stone
David Sereda

Jim Sparks
John Lear
Michael Salla

Can you believe this guy? When a clearly superior show like the Paracast is free, and you have to pay for Sparks, Salla, and Sereda, you know something is wrong:D:D:D:D

(Gene Im totally throwing you another donation next weel. Hold me to it)

To be fair, he's also interviewed Milton Torres (TheParacast should do likewise but probably not for an entire two hours), Richard Dolan, Edgar Mitchel and Stanton Friedman.

You are almost certainly correct though - I set it as an automatic download after I found it and forgot about it because up to Richard Dolan he had about a 50% rate of credible people (not bad) but after that it took a nose dive. The shows are normally between one and three hours but the James Fox download is only 49 minutes.

I'll kill the download if he's now charging - the recent bunch of shows are not worth listening to.

Hey Lemmy, people are still subscribing daily. Do you want to call them morons too? If there was no perceived value, no one would subscribe.

Why doesn't The Paracast try that? I see they have sponsors and commercials posted. I have politely refused advertisers and sponsors. We're uncensored, unscripted and uncut. Sorry you disagree with my subscribers.

Why is there so much negativity here?

Cheers,

Mel Fabregas

If you could guarantee quality equal to folks like Dolan, Austin-Fitts, James Fox, Milton Torres etc, then yeah, I might consider it. But like I said, why pay for something you can get for free.

I forgot I made this thread. It was a reactionary post and I feel kinda guilty about it now, to be honest. But the sentiment still stands (from my POV). Paying for the opportunity to hear suspected nut cases like Clifford Stone & John Lear, and actual full-blown nut cases like David Sereda and Michael Salla is definitely not something I would ever do.

And I can see why you might think there is negativity here. IMO thats just a tough outer shell that has developed over time due to the some the absolute insanity that is present in the UFO field.

What's more fair to say is that you've become highly judgemental. Combine that with your own ideology on how things should be and you're at the present point.

Gareth, I've seen a number of your comments on this forum which made my feet curl. Do what I do, if ufology starts getting to you take a break from it and let other people be.

I don't understand the witchhunt for exopolitics or in this case writing scathing comments directed at Mel Fabregas. Let the guy run his own show, freedom of speech, remember?

You know what's also wrong with ufology? The people in it! It seems like too many people want to force their own selfish opinions on to others.

Terrax some of my comments made my feet curl too. Sometimes I post first and think later (or post and forget about it), and combine that the incorrect assumption that anonymity means you can say anything on net, and sometimes I will post something completely unwarranted and unnecessary.

Apologies to Mel for any offence. The fact is Mel has started a show and is presumably running it the way he wants to. Thats more than I can say for myself. Just because I dont agree with certain things is no reason to act like a complete twat.

that's hillarious. Suprised Mr. Horn wasn't on that list of guest speakers.
Nah, Mr. Horn has contacted me on several occasions (and very insisting, I must add) and I cold post the letters here. I'll let David interview him first...;)

Now, does anyone believe in the Billy Meier case here? Just curious.

Mel

That fact that he has the balls to call his show "veritas" never ceases to stun me.
And why would that be CapnG?

I have the balls to ask you directly. Next time, feel free to ask me directly. The program name was born because I needed to come up with a name when I placed a call to Milton Torres. He wouldn't talk to me unless I was calling from a show. That's the name that came to mind. What was supposed to be a recorded telephone call became a show. Now, you could only know that if you asked me.

I don't see Milton Torres on the Paracast roster. Are you going to discount this man, who for 50 years held a secret and it wasn't until the British MOD declassified his file that he started talking?

Cheers,

Mel

Mel,

I like that. Feeling like a pathfinder, actually starting a national UFO talk show even before Art Bell, I know the pitfalls and problems that come with taking on the task of starting a radio talk show with this subject matter. I wish you all the success.

There is room for all types of approach to this subject, and like all endeavors in this country, the market place, level of excitement and audience will determine if a show makes it or not. I have never listened to your program but will in the future, if just to hear how you approach this topic.

Once again, success in your approach.

Dear Decker,

I know there's a button to say thanks, but I wanted to write this myself. Thank you for the kind remarks and well wishes.

Sincerely,

Mel

If there was no perceived value, no one would subscribe.

Why doesn't The Paracast try that? I see they have sponsors and commercials posted.

Not to try & speak for the hosts or owners of The Paracast (as they are well spoken enough and outspoken enough too for that matter), but if they were to charge for the show then someone may believe:
A)they have ulterior motives in regards to their guests/comments or content(like to get rich-not that I'm sure Gene or David would mind that terribly), or
B)be providing simple entertainment, instead of displaying an objective treatment of topics not usually afforded such, without regard to losing money/subscribers

...and that enhances my perceived value of this show.

No offense intended, and I hope that doesn't sound negative.

Best Wishes on the new format Mel.:)

I have the balls to ask you directly. Next time, feel free to ask me directly.

You weren't here for one thing. And as I see you're now banned I expect no reply but since you asked, here's why: Veritas means "truth" doesn't it? To declare your show is the "truth" (and by extension therefore that all others are NOT the truth) is arrogance on a level I have seen few times in my life. Espescially given some of the choices you've made per your guest roster. If you called your show "In search of truth" or "Quest for truth" or something similar, I wouldn't have batted an eyelid but you called your show TRUTH and then booked frauds and liars as guests and THAT takes balls...

I have no doubt the Paracast could get him on the show. This sort of "feather in the cap" one upmanship is why ufology is the messy morass of personality-driven BS we see today. Get over yourself.

Took a quick look at the The Veritas Show web page, omg serious web design issues. More mid-90's era black starry background with bright bold banners. Why'oh'Why. Reminds me of those cheap tacky black velvet paintings you can buy in gas station parking lots,Elvis,Unicorns and Bullfighters.

Not to criticize any other show hosts or producers -- other than the ones we already criticize -- but far too many use the tacky 90's designs, with black backgrounds and white text. They don't seem to understand that it makes their content extremely hard to read.

We gave up the dark backgrounds and white text on personal computers in 1984, when the first Mac came out. I can't understand why some Web designers haven't learned the basic concepts of readability.
