That "idjit" is one of the most insightful guys to have lived on this planet in the last few decades. He hated Limbaugh for good reason, and if you don't understand that, it's your own loss.

Maybe because I had never seen the clip before and had no idea of it's content? Maybe because I was hoping to see a witty or funny youtube video about Rush and not some prepubescent scat fantasy? In other words,

Flame throwers such as Limbaugh are in it for the money and fame, not ideology. If he'd make a few hundred million as a liberal, he'd switch overnight and make up a song and dance as to why. That's true also of O'Reilly, Hannity and Beck. Alas, the messages they all spread are filled with hate and vitriol, and there's an undercurrent of racism in the way they've seized on Obama. A white president with the same point of view would never have been given such hostility.
There are reports, for example, that the Secret Service has to review 400% more threats against Obama than his predecessor. But those wingnut commentators don't care, so long as their ratings and paychecks are up.

I agree. Those people are entertainers, and in that capacity they succeed. It's not for the reasons they think though, most people with more then 2 braincells to rub together are not laughing with them, but at them.
I listen to most of the right wing talk show hosts, because they make me laugh, and sometimes cringe at the way they completely ignore reality in favor of appealing to their moronic followers. They cannot be that stupid, it has to be a game. I especially like Beck and his nutso conspiracy theories, they never get old. I think Bill was always more into educating than entertaining.
One really has to appreciate the level of contempt he held for the powers that be to really understand his use of such visceral language.
IMHO I think he felt he had such a different perception of the world, and that so many people appeared to be zoned out zombies, that his only way to hook up the jump leads to people's brains was to be provocative and insistent.
At least we can sleep tight knowing that in years to come when Rush Limbaugh is long forgotten, you will still hear people quoting 'its just a ride...' :

I love hearing Ron Reagan giving it to him - especially when Limbaugh starts lecturing to us on what The Gipper would have done about this or said about that . . . Basically Ron says, "he was my dad, not yours, so I think I have a better idea of what he might have thought about certain issues . . ."
