You know it's funny you mention Glenn Miller. I once knew a friend whose father was one of Glenn Miller's executive producers and didn't really believe it until one day when the Oscar awards were on and the entire team won for something or other.....and there he was, my friend's Father standing up on the platform accepting his. I haven't spoken to this friend or his father in a long time and I have a feeling that he is gone now, but that trophy used to be on his mantle above his fireplace for many years and I always thought it was cool to have known an Oscar winner.
 
Totally! I'd be chuffed seeing a mate's dad at the Oscars!

Thing about Miller was that fair enough, there was a war on and many who gave their lives may have no graves etc but I'm sure Miller supposedly 'disappeared' but I'd need to check.
 
Yeah man, he disappeared over the English Channel on his way to Paris to play for the Soldiers during WWII there. No one was ever found, including the crash site or the crew.
