Sincere condolences Bob. I have been through that and can promise you that time passing will help.

Sincere condolences Bob.
Ive always thought the love we feel for our own, the bond that creates, can never be broken by something as flimsy as time and distance.
Such intangible constructs cant ever dent that connection.

I met him when we were dating and I loved him as much as my own father. Robert Sr was a kind and humble man. we are in an empty loss today. My kids and I are likewise taking this hard. Decker said it best time will heal this wound.
BLESSED BE

My sincere condolences as well Bob, it is hard when those close to us pass away.
I lost a number of very close friends last year and it still hurts.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Posted that in honor of your father being a service man.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. My sympathies to you and your family.

My condolences to you and your family.

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.

All is well.
