sad news who fans...

Free episodes:

this just in a sad day for doctor who...

I dropped out of the Dr. Who scene after Tom Baker. I've tried it again a few times since but it never stuck. The last time I tried, the show seemed to rely more on special FX than plot or imagination. I think what I'm saying is that I've had to use the word "try" to many times here. A show needs to make people want to watch it. I don't know why, but Persons of Interest has kept me coming back ( barely ). Same with Touch. The only one I make a point of watching is Arrow. The rest of the time I sooner work on my websites or participate in the forum. Maybe Doctor Who will hook me in again in the future though. I used to watch it often way back in the day.

Its a real pity, he was brilliant in the role.

I grew up with Troughton and Pertwee, and while i was horrified to see pertwee go, soon fell in love with Baker as the fourth incarnation.
Just two weeks ago, i won first prize in a costume contest as the 4th doctor.

But i really took to Smith, he was great in the role and im really sad to hear he's leaving the show, i could happily have seen him play the doctor for years more

I thought this was gonna be something about The Who :(

As far as I was aware the last few incarnations of Doctor Who have been aimed at the pre-teen market, am I wrong? It certainly seems that way from the time slot it's on, but I've never even given it a chance due to this.

I was the same ufology, I tried the new breed and couldn't get on with the pedestrian soap opera element and the blatant scifi rip offs which was a major criticism for Russel T Davies . I had to reset my taste buds after watching the episode Blink! Which is a standalone ep I think the Doctor appears in it very briefly but it mainly relies on great story telling, original plot devices and a young Carey Mulligan who was instantly propelled into stardom off this one episode. I have since gone back and watched the new ones and have kept up with it sometimes, cringe worthy and lack lustre but there is always something great going on. There have been recent writing contributions from Neil Gaiman as well as class actors like John Hurt, Lesley Sharp, Hugh Bonnevill to name a few. It's worth giving another go.
