Shirley McClain on The O'Reilly Factor - VID

Free episodes:

Miah

Skilled Investigator
She came off a lil nutty with the "they like to be called space people" crap, and FoxNews did the usual movie clips to make fun of the subject and of course conveniently showed only fake footage as usual. But worth a quack, err quick watch.

It isn't as bad as I thought it might be. Sure, the photos in the background are not good examples, but O'Reilly could have been worse throughout the interview instead of going for the giggles at the end.

Thing is, while Shirley may get too woo woo for an uninformed public with the "star beings' thing, she held her own against O'Reilly. That she is unruffle-able is advantageous. Were she to become easily offended, she really would look nutty. Can't help but admire her for not caring how people see her. She is who she is without apology.

Ok why on earth do tv companies continue to put clips of known fakes and movies into the mix, hardly helps the cause now does it!

Gahhhhhhhhh

Faux News actually does a pretty good job of covering UFO stuff when it comes up. Well, okay, maybe not the news division... but back when everyone wanted to see Ray Santilli's Alien Autopsy footage, they ran that... and that was before everyone thought it was a hoax--they actually went to the guys at ILM, and they said that they couldn't have done it--I think it was Stan Winston that said "if it's a fake, tell the guy that made it to come here and we'll give him a job".

Fox has treated the UFO topic over the years better than about anybody else, except for Ted Turner/CNN. He's always had a soft spot for UFOs, and it's always seemed to me that back when he owned CNN that he didn't play ball with the government's media blackout on UFO information.

Oh, and Shirley MacClaine has been involved in fringe/new age stuff for decades... but she was a total hottie and she's still a hell of an actress.

Having watched the segment, you can tell that MacClaine, for whatever other beliefs she has, really knows her stuff. She's well informed and has done her homework on UFOs. I'd say she's as good an ambassador to Faux News as anybody, although I'm pretty sure the aliens don't want to be called "Star Beings".

But when it comes to knowing the facts, she quoted the Roper Poll (but got the data wrong) about how many people in the US believe UFOs are real (e.g. alien spacecraft), knew about Jimmy Carter's sighting (and Reagan's) and the Sunshine Laws he tried to get applied to the topic in the 70s. She not only held her own with O'Reilly, but you could tell that he had a lot of respect for her.

He probably had a crush on her like everybody else did.

I'm drunk and still can't make myself watch it. How big of a douche is Reilly? Stupid question i know, but just in case he lost his voice, I might watch.

He actually takes it really easy on her--I think he knows that she's indeed unflappable, and remains low-key throughout.

MacClaine, on the other hand, was congenial and yet distant... she knew she didn't like him but didn't want her contempt for him to be TOO obvious.

It's short, you should watch it, at least, to see what a command she has over the information, and over BoR.
