It was a hot night last night and I caught an amazing light show on my phone's camera. Check it out.

Here's another video of the same storm but it seems like it was taken from Mount Royal in the middle of Montreal.

Not CGI on my video for sure. It went from my iPhone, to iMovie, cut out some boring bits, and then to Youtube. I also shot them a few minutes apart, which is why it gets darker. It was amazing in person, but I'm impressed with how well the camera on the phone caught it. HD video is pretty impressive. Too bad no one has caught a good UFO yet.

I can't say for sure about the second storm because that video was taken a good 50km from where I am, but it's definitely the same storm.

Nice! I remember seeing the same type of display here in Brantford about 4 yrs ago. I didn't have an iPhone but I remember I took some pics with my digital SLR.

Nice Angelo! That looks like something straight out of the movies!
How far away were you from that storm? And did you see any signs of sprites or jets?

No sprites or jets. I was hoping to see something out of the ordinary, but I didn't.

However, last night we stayed outside until 11pm on our new deck, and i saw some cool stuff in the sky. I saw a "traditional" shooting star which was cool. What was really amazing though was seeing a meteor entering the atmosphere in a ball of fire. A few of us saw it and it was a brilliant orange colour. I also noticed as i was looking at the stars that there were several points of light seemingly moving in formation and I wonder what the hell was going on - was it a UFO? And then I realized, clouds can really mess things up for the eyes and the brain. The clouds seemed motionless, and the stars were moving, but it was the other way around. Also, and quick movement of the clouds directionally made the "objects" move in a bizarre fashion. Cool effect for sure, but they were just stars. I did have a lot of fun with my "SkyView" app.

I love to watch for satellites, but this time of year isn't good for it with all the haze and clouds.
Have you ever visited www.heavens-above.com? It's the best site I've found to predict satellite passes for any location worldwide. Their data base is pretty good, but I have seen satellites, some of them very impressive in magnitude, go over but were not listed on their charts. Spy sats I guess.

I've got that covered with my SkyView app. It shows me where satellites are, along with everything else in the sky that's predictable.
