same thing as last time.....site goes down for maintanence and never comes back up.....have to go through GhostProxy - SURF FREE! to even get to the forums

your DNS is never updating after these fixes

ive tested it with my cable connection, and my AT&T phone and broadband card.....all of them are showing Nov. 23rd as the last show

Gene, i dont know what kind of updates you are doing.....but this is the only website ive ever had this problem with

In the interest of adding more data points to Genes graph, I will say that its fine for me. Maybe the site goes down for a small window when the new show is updated?

Wouldnt explain why your troubles connecting persist though.

The forums came down for a bit on Thanksgiving for an upgrade. I told Gene about the problem the OP is having. Things have been fine here.
We actually performed another server migration, and, now that we've done some fine-tuning, I think you'll see better performance.

We don't do the DNS propagation. All we do is change the information at the domain registrar to point to different servers. It can take 24 to 72 hours, normally, for the update to pass to DNS servers around the planet. But some ISPs don't update promptly, and that's their fault, unfortunately.

I recommend to most of you, for the safest online experience, you use OpenDNS | Providing A Safer And Faster Internet. This may seem a chore for those of you who are tech challenged, but it's not a hard think to set up. They have instructions there for Macs and PCs and most routers, so it should work for most of you without a problem. We can manually update their DNS cache, so it works properly when we do periodic updates.

Gene, i've upgraded all my machines to openDNS....as well as my winmo phone, seems to not make a difference for whatever reason.

also, i've tested this at work too with the same result.....that's 3 major ISPs in northern arizona that arent updatin (NPG cable, frontier and At&t)

weird

last time it took almost 3 weeks before the website updated

Wow. That is strange. I've had probs before after changes, but it's usually with my login etc.

Well, that seems odd. Are you sure you've updated to OpenDNS? You should go to the site on those computers and if you're properly set up, you'll see the words, "You're using OpenDNS!" in the upper right corner of the page. And I know we've propagated on their system, having tested it.

As to your ISPs, all bets are off, but it's worth a call to find out why, 5 days after the switch, they are still pointing to the old site. That's wrong!

Tried it, the darn thing keeps asking for the fourth something or other to be an integer.... arrrgghh!
and now I have totally screwed up my security settings. But at least I am connected to the home wireless network again. Think I will leave this one to those who think first, leap later!
