skinwalker ranch movie

Free episodes:

We talked about this on another thread a few months ago. Thanks for posting link Bob - I have to say AS A MOVIE, it looks great and it's nice to see a giant wolf in it!

As usual with Hollywood, it's plain to see that the movie does not follow the real story too closely but that's fine, it's not a documentary.
I really hope the movie encourages people who might otherwise never have heard the story, to check out the real story. If they do, they may get turned onto other things in the paranormal too.

I was working at the Ute Reservation as an insurance claims adjuster, and was traveling home from there end of January first of February, 1977, late one night at around 23:00. It had begun snowing and did not have my radio on to learn highway US40/191 were closed to Duchesne, UT, had been closed by a winter storm. I had already passed the area Skinwalker is located and the sleepy town of Roosevelt. The conditions were near white-out, and as I began to descend down the mountain, I saw what I believed a semi approaching heading east toward Roosevelt. I was only doing about 25-30 MPH but he truck was moving fast and looked like was going to hit me head on. I hit my brakes to move to the right, as the lights came over the top of my car, and I slid into a snow bank.

It was not a semi, and from what I can remember, the light was a blinding white plasma type light that passed around 2o feet above my car, nearly silent and traveling much faster than I've ever seen a motor vehicle traveling. I could not get out of the embankment because of the snow and I had cut my forehead head pretty badly on impact as stuff flew off my dashboard on impact...and had to wait for a snow plow for about an hour and a state trooper was summoned .

I did not relay what I had seen to the trooper but was pretty shaken up by the accident....and not the sighting. It's been many years since I've been back to that area, but the memory is still pretty vivid.

I was lucky enough to see a screening of the SKINWALKER RANCH film this weekend in Salt Lake City. I had my reservations about it but I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed it! They do keep a lot of the elements from all the Skinwalker Ranch lore that I know and love, and the special effects are pretty damn sweet. I think it comes out this Wednesday in selected cities and VOD. It's definitely a perfect movie for this time of year.

George Knapp posted on Facebook that the movie has nothing to do with the Book he co wrote with Colm Kelerher and he has nothing to do with it.

There was an interview with the director of that movie on another podcast. He mentioned Chip the former security guard. I thought that was a cool since Chip was on the Paracast a few months ago.

So I finally caught this last night and I'm kind of torn over this movie to be honest, on one hand I respect it for not taking the easy way out and giving us simple, predictable answers, but on the other hand I think they could've explained things just a tad bit more and it would've ultimately drawn you deeper into the movie and had the effect of making you actually care about the characters. As it was, the only character I found myself actually giving a shit about was the father who lost his son, the rest of them aren't really developed enough for you to care what happens to them one way or the other, imo. I'll probably end up watching it again at some point so take that for what it's worth. All in all I liked it, but I thought it could've been a lot better.

Very incoherent film. Multiple strands and loose ends. Ghosts. Spaceships and werewolves. 2/10. Story just dies on its arse at the end.

Derek, I have not yet seen the film so I can't actually disagree with you - but weren't the real events sporadic, spontaneous, unique, unpredictable and dare I say, incoherent ?

What I mean is that the actual events, if reported truthfully, did not follow anything like a pattern or progression - so not at all the normal material for a film script? If the events in the film are incoherent (a good word by the way) perhaps that is actually an accurate depiction of what happened?

My 2 cents, Kent Brockman;)

Yeah from reading the book that actually sounds accurate maybe that's why it didn't make for a good movie. I do wish they'd spoken with and got permission from Mr Knapp. They may have information that puts things into further perspective.

Hi Goggs.
It was as far as these types of movies go quite engaging and exciting with some novel takes on effects interspersed with the usual. I think that some of the events (and I won't spoil the surprise) were so emphatic they had the effect of appearing to be several movies from different genres spliced and bound together - the movie had a beginning and a middle but no end. I think the art of film making requires at least some attempt at resolution - but you have a sense this film could easily have been a pilot special for Channel 4/5 in the UK - and may have been a good tv series instead of a movie.
