Oil: The Next Revolution - Harvard - Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs

Dropping oil prices can be indicative of an oncoming recession but many analysts predict an oncoming oil boom/glut which could spell an end towards the advancements made in lithium-ion battery capacity and size, as well as that of bio-fuels production. I have a bit of interest in the energy and food production matrix, if energy gets real cheap again (albeit via fossil fuels) will crop yields also grow (dependent on rain and soil conditions) and lead to possible food surpluses as well? What's more, I wonder if cheap energy could compensate for poor weather and/or soil. any ideas out there ?
