Some extremely impressive UFO photos over Eastern Europe...

Free episodes:

Gareth

Nothin' to see here
... in this UFO doco called "Secret Space" I as watching on youtube last night. As for the doco itself, well I dont think its anything special. But in part 2 (see below) there is a sequence of b&w UFO photos over different parts of Eastern Europe from the early 20th century.

They seem really compelling to me, yet Ive never ever seen them before.

They start from 5:48...

Wow, some of those images are impressive, and I've never seen any of 'em, either. I wonder where they found those? I'm floored... great find, Gareth. Thanks for posting that!

Yeah I was pretty surprised too. Re-watching the clip this morning, I noticed that they seemed to be taken from the pages of a book - something I didnt initially notice.

It might be possible to track down that book.

Most of those look like out of focus bugs, birds, or wind blown debris. I agree they look like they are taken from a book. Thanks for the vid.:D

Yep there are definitely a couple of bugs or smears or light reflections (or something). Possibly even a couple of Zeppelins in those photos that appear to have a cigar shaped object in a photo from the 1920's. Im convinced there is at least one zeppelin anyway.... wikipedia tells me that the 20's & 30's were a big time for zeppelins, so its pretty likely.

But there are some interesting ones.

(Oh BTW David, I PMd you yesterday asking about a space encounter. It was the Skylab photo I was looking for. I have seen that before but forgot for some reason... its pretty damn interesting.)

who needs the actual book when youve got me to waste an hour screen grabbing 'em all!

Heres every one of the UFO images shown in the video. I wont embed them all in the post because I think there is a limit...

But I will embed just two, because they are quite insane (IMO):

What the hell?

Some, yes. But there are more than a couple that look really interesting to me.

Some of them looked like they could have been early Zeppelins or dirigibles of some sort. There were quite a few that just had me scratching my head, saucer style ufos before that was the common mythos attached to the phenomenon.

Thanks for posting that man! I hadn't seen ANY of those photos up till now.

part 9 of 12 is interesting... it shows how they probably faked some of the moon shot videos.

Some of those photos look pretty compelling. Especially the ones with motion wobble. 'Wondering why we've never seen these before. Were they just recently unearthed from some lost Nazi scrapbook?

Totally agree on the subject of dirigibles, it's pretty hard for me to bang a gavel on any of the cylindrical object photos, from a time period where zeppplins were in large supply, and employed for so widely a usage.

Some of the photo's in this film are very interesting, some less so. Number 10 on your link gareth looks just like the one from the famous swamp gas case (i forget the date and place etc) that the sheriff drew, but it could also just be a trick of light from the camera.
Before I get carried away with these photo's i'd like to know some of the sources better, and also the documentary states the WVB studied photos whilst designing a disc shaped craft. This seems unlikely to me as I dont think any documents have been found to show that the germans even knew about UFO's back then.

I noticed one or two look a little like one of Bennewitz' photos.... sort of like a flying duck/bird in a dive.

These photos are fascinating. I agree that the cylindrical objects look like dirigibles and fit in with the time they were taken. Others look too fuzzy to determine much. The ones posted here look like artistic renderings. The classic saturn-shaped objects are cool -- a lot like objects from later in time and in other places on the globe. I am surprised that no one has pointed out that a couple of the objects look just like the Nazi Bell and/or the Kecksburg acorn-craft.

This segues into a request for guests on the Paracast who can discuss pre-WWII German research into scalar electromagnetic technology. Joseph Farrell points out that the Nazis funded this sort of research because it seemed to them to be a very Aryan sort of physics -- as opposed to the "Jewish" relativistic physics like that of Einstein. That explains why such research was funded by the Nazis, though the research itself just happened to come from non-Jewish German scientists. And certainly much of it came out of Tesla's much earlier work, which was completely outside of Nazi race fantasies.

My point is that the modern UFO phenomenon is supposed to start post-WWII. These images from Europe in the 20s and 30s seems every bit as "modern". What was happening in Europe between WWI and WWII (besides dirigibles and clever photography). An inquiring mind wants to know.

I find it interesting that a lot of these sightings are pre 1940's (a traditional, though perhaps not factually accurate, starting point for UFO sightings in their modern guise). I also find, from a historical perspective, that many of the photos are from Germany. Given their involvement in both world wars, weimar, the nazis, all sorts of other upheavals ie the great depression made German currency worth next to nothing....well, these were eventful times. Not sure if the presence of ufos means anything or not, but it's interesting
