Makes for a great sci-fi MacGuffin, similar to the Borg Omega Molecule, but in reality, although some scientists have been claiming that they have actually found the HB particle, upon further investigation of that claim, it seems that they haven't actually done that. Rather they have detected other new particles that they're calling Higgs Boson like, and are considering them to be a new class of particles rather than the singular so-called "The God Particle" itself. There's another thread on the forum someplace with more info, but you might have to dig a bit to find it.
