PRI’s The World: 05/30/2012 (Faroe Islands, Israel, India) | PRI's The World in this broadcast the enviornmental reporter did a really cool job on bringing together three seperate bits of news about coal and natural gas stories on why it mattered to us, namely that the advent of fracking and abundence of natural gas, coal(at least in the states) is falling by the wayside, but because coal is to the u.s. what crude oil is to saudi arabia, and we're not using it as much, and the chinese is on a coal binge, why not sell it to them, but we need some some export terminals to handle it, say in seattle, but seattle has differnt ideas. it was a pretty cool juxtaposition and i admired the reporter for seeing the common thread. some of the more recent stories have been mentioned in this forum in other threads

lastly, one of my favorite podcasts (neck and neck w/the paracast, sorry gene and chris is Home - Radiolab some recent podcasts have dealt w/dreams and nightmares, why we need to sleep and even a paracast worthy story on legendary blues guitarist robert johnson and the legend about his deal with the devil.

this story which i believe will be repeated this weekend on npr is one of my favorites
