Space Shuttle fly-by

I work really close to the Space Shuttle Discovery's final destination...Actually right across the street from Dulles Airport. The shuttle was being ferried by a 747 en route to it's new life as a museum piece. It flew over 3 times and a great many of us went on to the roof to watch and photograph the flight.

Please excuse my camera...I'm using a PalmPrePlus camera phone.

I have a picture of a piggy backed space shuttle that landed at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma back in the late 80's. These images took me straight back to then. Its crazy to think that technology is so old.

I saw the shuttle overfly in the 80's when I was just a young teenager. I skipped school that fateful January day when the Challenger exploded. We used to have a NASA channel on TV as well. Space travel in all it's forms always fascinated me. So seeing the shuttle fly by kinda closed the circle for me.

As far as the future of NASA goes... I guess that's up in the air. (pun intended.)
