Spock Versus Spock: Who Will Win?

Free episodes:

Well my money would be on the smaller older Spock because HE competed in the Pon Farr. That's pretty bad ass.

Speaking of "Star Trek," The Paracast, translated into Klingon, is Paracast.

Our other show, The Tech Night Owl LIVE, translates to: techH ram owl Durgh le vIraknIl

Don't ask me to pronounce it. :D

Very funny! I'd been avoiding watching this particular viral video, for no real reason other than laziness, but I did watch it here. Leonard's a good sport...always has been from my understanding, though I can say I heard him get a little snippy at a convention once.

Yes....I went to a Star Trek convention before.

Twice.

I'm a nerd. I admit it...proudly.

I did, in the 1970s, having the opportunity to interview Jimmy Doohan and Nichelle Nichols. I asked Doohan to imitate a 70-year-old Scotty not realizing he would be still playing Scotty at age 70. :)

Very cool. I rode an elevator with Nichelle Nichols and had a very casual sit-down chat with the actor who played Q on Next Generation (I honestly can't remember his name and am ashamed to admit that.) He was very approachable and very friendly, as was Mrs. Nichols.

So far I think they did a good job on the reboot, but the new movie will be telling. I'm also wondering how the old generation (those that are still alive) think of it. I'd imagine their leery that it's become more of an action flick instead of a TV series that addressed social and political issues within the frame work of science fiction every week.

I hope the new Star Trek is better than the first (new) one, I wasn't a fan of it at all. Ole' Benedict should help. Ridiculous name but good actor.

Q was played by John DeLancey, whom I met at the Stellarcon in Winston-Salem NC years ago. He was very playful and was making jokes and seemed to be having a good time. I also met Colm Meany (O'Brian), Michael Dorn(Warf), and several others who were all really nice.
I want to go to the big Star Trek convention in Las Vegas later on this year, but I just don't think I'll be able to swing it.

I hope I don't offend anyone with the following tale of an epic example of a faux-pas followed by serious back-peddling.
I was on a coach (bus) journey from Aberdeen to Glasgow and when the bus stopped at Dundee to pick up more passengers, the smokers amongst us nipped out at the front of the bus for a quick fag (yes, I know you Americans, over here it's a perfectly acceptable term for a cigarette!) - so anyway, there was myself, a friend from Germany and the bus driver himself, all standing at the front of the bus smoking..
I happened to notice the driver had a badge on his uniform jacket and it was in the shape of a Star Trek TNG 'communicator', in fact it was identical. Having spotted it, I made conversation with the driver saying, 'Oh I see you are into Star Trek, I love it, especially Deep Space 9.....blah blah blah' and we exchanged a few Star Trek related comments.
I don't know why but I felt the urge to let him know that although I like Star Trek, I was not a 'Trekkie' and under no circumstances would I ever disgrace myself by turning up at a Star Trek convention wearing a home-made Klingon mask/clothes.
To which he replied, 'Oh, actually I do...'
'What?' I asked, a bit taken aback,
'I have a Klingon suit and mask which I wear at Sci-Fi conventions.
Internally, my stomach just sank and my German friend looked at me, doing a great job of not laughing out loud.

So I tried to backtrack by saying that the reason I wouldn't wear such a suit at such a place was merely cos I lacked the courage to do so and that I really admired those who do so.

Now, I don't know if he swallowed my backtracking but he appeared not to be offended. Thing is, he'd just heard my slagging off precisely what he does, and yet he still revealed it? Had I been in his shoes, I'd have kept quiet?

I couldn't look at him when I later got off the bus, the damage had been done.

Warning possible spoiler. I just heard a soundbite on npr from the movie and in the dialogue spock can be heard saying

" eht sdeen fo eht ynam hgiewtuo eht sdeen fo eht wef"

in reply to bones comment they were trying to save him

And no that was not written in klingon or vulcan for that matter
