Stange light phenomena or hoax?

This is one video that has me scratching my head a little bit. Certainly this could be and most likely is some sort of video special effect. However, it is pretty impressive nonetheless. What do you folks think? Is this your basic everyday dimensional portal captured on video or something else? I think it is fake because the brilliant light doesn't dispel the shadows under the trees directly behind it.

Another suspicious thing is the bird footage and voice over in the beginning. If this were filmed during the making of a bird documentary it seems unlikely that they would have combined it with bird footage with an added voice over. Its a two shot that could have been done inside the camera I image but I tend to doubt it.

I better reaction would have been a Fay Wray scream and a wild-eyed run past the camera.

Certainly fake, as she was pretty calm. Any normal human being would have freaked out. Or am I just a 'fraidy cat?
