Stanton Friedman does Reddit AMA

Free episodes:

I bookmarked it so I can read through it once I get home. I'm not familar with that site. I do often wonder one thing about Stanton Friedman. He likes to say he is a Nuclear Physicist. However, that gives the perception that he is actively working in the field. I don't think he has actually done anything in that field in many, many moons. :-) I at one time taught basic computer at a private elementary school. Way back in the eighties. I could technically call myself an elementary school teacher. But, in reality I'm not. Just a thought. Seems like people love to throw credentials out there. Nothing wrong with that. But, a little humble pie goes down better, than setting yourself up for ridicule.

Reddit is a site that is not suited for someone like him. It's full of people like me...

What do you mean?

What's it full of?

I read some of the reddit comments and I was not impressed. Young people these days don't know how to troll.

Check out the new definition of a troll .There was a study done on their kind - a good many of those reddit posters fit the bill:

According to Hardaker, a troll is an individual "who constructs the identity of sincerely wishing to be part of the group in question, including professing or conveying pseudo-sincere intentions, but whose real intention(s) is/are to cause disruption and/or to trigger or exacerbate conflict for the purposes of their own amusement.”

They were mostly pissed that he kept referring to his books. But, and yes I will defend him a bit, they were largely unprepared to ask good questions. They then resorted to rapid fire insults and subjective attacks. Some of the users agree.

Wow. I've never seen so many ignorant and rude comments by the Reddit community in an AMA before.

I'm embarrassed about the treatment he's getting. I wouldn't want to stick around and face all this vitriol and rudeness either. No wonder he's not answering many questions. I don't get why people think all rules for treating people decently don't apply just because it's the internet.

I, however, completely agree. The immaturity in this thread is astounding.

I think that some of the questions he was being asked are not quickly answerable. You cant dumb this subject down to a couple of sentences. I took his "read my book" comments less as an opportunity to hock them and more from a "get educated and ask more informed questions" standpoint.
