Star Trek Transmission Confirmed! Roger

Free episodes:

It did take some getting used to, and its not as relaxed eye wise as a proper theatre, ive seen Judge Dredd and the Hobbit in 3D at the theatre, But i didnt find it as irritating as listening to the other patrons rumage for sweets, or coughing and sniffing.
So as a trade off i'd take the home system over the theatre.
I have to buy a digital to analog converter for the external sound option to power my legacy amps and speakers, its got optical out audio.

Funny story, at one point in the movie smoke drifts across the screen, and for a second i actually thought we had something on fire in the room :D

Well it didnt "look" like a gimmick to me, it was a totally new way of watching TV

Even converting a 2D video like this TV does "looks" different, like watching TV via the old viewmaster toys we used to play with as kids

I had it covert an episode of deep space nine yesterday, and while no where near the sort of full on 3D i saw in prometeus, it was still a different "viewmaster" type experience than ordinary TV.

But prometheus was really good 3D wise, the image had a depth , a noticable 3D depth that we dont get watching a CRT telly.
I'd need to compare it to the two cinema 3D titles ive seen.
In the hobbit there was a moment when a butterfly seemed to come towards me and fly over my head.

I remember thinking during Judge Dredd (my first 3D movie experience) this could revitalise the movie industry. I was really impressed by the experience.

And given the choice of watching prometheus in 2D or 3D i would take 3D.

I'm looking forward to owning the next star trek in 3D format.
I loved Abrams first one, and for one single reason, that kept me smiling the whole movie.
His choice of Chris pine as Kirk was inspired, i totally, totally believed i was seeing a young James T Kirk. I grew up on ST-TOS and Pine was Kirk for me in that movie.

Every smirk, every cocky posture. I was blown away how seamless it was.

Casting someone to play a young JTK had to be done 1000 percent right or it would have been a disaster.

If he hadnt have got it right , watching the movie would have been like walking around with undies full of sand for me, as a ST neckbeard.

Bones came in a close second, and after that ....... meh

But he nailed the casting for a young JTK.

I bought a 50 inch 3D LCD yesterday will all the bells and whistles, watched prometheus on it last night.
Looking forward to adding this one to my new 3D library

But I'll bet as good as your new telly is, you still can't work out the Prometheus plot!

LOL No i think i have it figured out.
The missing bits will be in the sequel ;)

Prometheus doesnt dovetail with Alien, I'd expand further but that would be spoilers....................

What i can say is this

The planetoids in Prometheus and Alien are different.
Prometheus – LV-223
Alien – LV-426
