I walk into work today and look at the screen that shows upcoming events and I see the name Stephen Bassett. First thought: I wonder if this guy speaking at a major Canadian university knows that he shares a name with a nutty UFO dude. Then I notice the words "extra terrestrial" under his name in the event summary...

Tickets range from $50-78 for these 'modern kowledge' tours. I'm curious to know if people actually attend such events and pay such fees in large numbers and just how specialized the audience is that is attracted to such a lecture tour. I see that Stanton and Grant Cameron have jumped on this wagon as well. Friedman really will not turn down a stage as he continues to work hard for his dime. The rest of the lineup is the usual assemblage of odd disclosure thinking erudites. I would not ever go out of my way to see such an event and certainly not at these prices.
