Strange scaleless fish

Free episodes:

Weird. Can't really even get a layout of what the fish looks like in that photo. As much as we know about life in the sea, I'm guessing it is only a fraction of what is really living there.

"Researchers believe there are close to 150 species of undiscovered fish living in Brazil."

How can someone calculate the number of fish that are undiscovered? It could be a dozen, it could be a million. It may have been only one and now we can all stop looking.
Batter it, fry it, dip it in hot-sauce. It all goes to the same place.

The Japanese must learn to modify their consumption.

It looks like a kind of like a strange fish that was in a video a year or two ago. I can't remember what it's called but pretty sure the video is linked somewhere here in the Paracast forums.

The only difference is that this current specimen looks like it has been flayed or had its skin eaten off.

I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be the disfigured carcass of a known species.

Hi Brian,

Yes I remember the one though from memory I think that was some sort of shark found near Japan. This beastie only has small teeth, not sure if that means anything.
And skunkape you are right of course, and they are trying :D.

I read a fascinating article about Brazil's fishing a year ago, it stated that some undiscovered species, are likely becoming extinct as fast as we can catch and tag them. Tragedy really, especially for conservational angler like myself.

Interesting post Mark!THX!
