I think this is part of the sts 80 footage. Its quite famous for the object that suddenly come ot of nowhere. But this part of the fotage i find just as interesting. You see another object moving, then slow down, until it stops. How is this possible?

Just a guess but I'd say relative angle. Remember, the earth is spinning and the shuttle is orbiting, so anything inbetween that lined up at precisely the right angle would appear to have stopped.

For the above to happen the shuttle and the object have to be in geostationary orbit. And thus the relative motion of the object would zero.

Not necessarily. If the object is a piece of space debris or meteorite, it's descent path could arc in a such a way as to make it appear to be decellerating, no?

How would you explain the STS 48 footage.
The most remarkable footage of fast walkers.

What aspect of his interpretation was proven wrong? Care to elaborate?

Not really, I'd have to go dig it up and I got bored with STS-48 years ago. It should be somewhere here though. http://www.ufoevidence.org/topics/sts-48.htm If not, sorry. Stuff there worth checking out regardless. Pro and con I think.
