Swine Flu..the masks

Free episodes:

the only sure method is to stay home. 6 feet is supposed to be about how far a coughing person can spray droplets.
The masks help in that regard. But if you already have it on your hands well. you know. anyway. wash your hands.

keep healthy, exercise, take lots of vitamin c, stay hydrated, get lots of rest, and do not worry. most of all, do NOT take any offered vaccines. if the flu doesnt kill you, the "cure" will.

having had flu shots the last 5 years or so, I would disagree, I am still kicking, and so far, touch wood 3 times, I haven't had an annual bout of flu, either. Whether or not I would have had it without the shot, I have no idea, especially as it is mostly a guessing game as to whether or not the shot has the current variety of antigen required to prevent this year's flu.
However, I don't have a bugaboo about vaccinations, had they been available earlier in the 50s, my dad would have been a lot healthier.

oh shit... i am so sorry you have not researched this subject. PLEASE do ASAP.

oh, yes, the thimerosol, etc... my daughter-in-law has spent the last 7 years investigating this. I get the dubious pleasure of seeing the info, and then spend time helping her find the information from the government health agencies that list the ingredients in the vaccinations.
so, yes, I am fully aware of the information out there, and my children grew up on the old vaccinations, my grandchildren (except those noted above) are growing up with vaccinations, my nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, friends' kids, etc, and the only ones who had catastrophic childhood diseases are the ones that didn't get a shot.
such as meningitis that nearly killed my friend's 4-year old. If there had been a shot available for croup, I would have had both my boys innoculated. One of them nearly died because of croup.
and the polio that my dad got because the vaccination was either not yet developed or not widely available, the kids I went to school with who had polio, because vaccination was not widely available.
I completely endorse and accept vaccinations. In my experience, they WORK.
If people want to blame things like autism on vaccinations, let them. there are other factors out there IMO that have much more to do with those syndromes than a vaccination that is more likely to prevent their death than to induce autism.

However, no matter what I say, or you say, we can each go and find contradicting research. I suppose it comes down to personal choice.

btw, thimerosol has a substitute, which has been used since at least 2001.

AnnetteMarie, I'm with you. I have read the pros and cons of flu and other immunizations and think the pros outweigh the cons, in general. The only thing I would caution against is jumping on the band wagon should the CDC come up with a quick fix for this latest flu. There has been discussion in the news about the flu immunizations that were given to millions in 1957 until it was discovered that there seemed to be a link to causing Guillain-Barre syndrome whereupon it was taken off the market. For that reason I plan to get my usual flu shot, but I also plan to stay away from whatever the CDC comes up with in the next few months. I think this whole swine flu thing is being blown way out of proportion to its danger, IMO.

This is the coolest mask I've seen so far.

That does make more sense, Martha, than just ignoring all the advances and aids to keeping disastrous diseases at bay. I wouldn't want to be the first in line on a patched together vaccine, but then, somebody had to be first in line for cowpox to prevent smallpox... :shy:
