I was thinking his hand was in remarkably good shape to have been hit by a 17,000 mph projectile. If my math is correct that is over 11,000 feet per second. His hand would have disappeared in a puff of pink aerosol if it was hit directly. Maybe it impacted near him and he was hit by ricocheting debris.
