Im looking forward to this show, it reminds me of 2000ad's Flesh .

Essentially an overpopulated future, needing food sends back rough and ready cowboy types to round up and slaughter the dinosaurs for meat, which is then sent to the future for consumption.
The plot providing a predictable explanation for their extinction as a result

I just noticed that I misspelled Terra in the title... Ooops!

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

I was a somewhat disappointed in this premiere. For one, they jumped right in to a fully functioning town that was how old, 7 years? They missed an opportunity to show some of the innovations, discoveries and difficulties that they had in establishing the settlement. The fact that they are already in a war like state with another settlement is really lame. Sure there could be two groups with different ideas but they would be communicating and trading resources to survive, not raiding and shooting at each other. Then there is escaped convict Jim Shannon who within one day is working for and riding shotgun with Taylor, the leader of the settlement. Given the opportunity to write about survival in the Cretaceous I expected something more imaginative but no... instead if you put these people in a plane crash on a present day island it looks a like a remake of "Lost". I suppose they have to write scripts that the average guy parked on his sofa pounding down a 12 pack can follow.

On the positive side the directing and special effects have big screen quality and the main characters are well played. There was a little science and tech thrown in (albeit in very casual references) such as the sonic cannon, the leach thing they used in the medical ward and some facts about the moon, local plants and animals. There was lots of action and the night time rescue scene of the kids had some great effects with lighting and lasers.

It looks like this might be a rip off from "Lost" with a different backdrop because all the main elements are there. That will be disappointing if so. At least they aren't a bunch of cowboys out farming dinosaurs!
