Ok does this really work? I see the image going clockwise, I.E. her foot rotates around in front of her from her left to her right (my right to left). So Im right-brain.

Does anyone actually see the opposite?

edit, I cant for thelife of me actually 'focus and see the opposite' as the article suggests.

When I first saw this I was in a meeting (about Silverlight) where most of the other people were graphic designers...I remember saying "Oh crap, I'm one of you.."

So everyone in the room saw it rotating clock wise? Was there anyone that saw the opposite?

I saw left-brained first, then it wouldn't go out of right-brain, then if I looked away, and watched aside, I could see either direction. I have very poor depth perception, so that may be why I had to watch from the side in order to make it change direction.
Weird! but fun. Thanks for the post!

I saw it going clock-wise first, then after looking away for some time I tried to see it going the opposite direction and I did. I've known for some time that I'm right-brain dominant anyway, but I'll agree with CapnG's reasoning in being used to that kind of imagery.

I wondered if it worked too. One of the reasons I posted it. I'm right brained according to it. Well, visually speaking.

The trick is this is an orthographic rendering. It LOOKS like a proper, standard perspective image but it's actually flattened. If you look at her pivot-foot and concentrate you should find you can glance back up and switch her rotation at will.

It is almost inconceivable to me that she can be seen as spinning anything other than clockwise. It doesn't change for me even when I do math in my head and play guitar left-handed.

15 minutes later...o.k. I got the hang of it. I can switch it back and forth, somewhat at will. Once I can see it going counter-clockwise, it's kinda hard to switch back. Here's a version of it that you can stare at longer. This is oddly fun for me.

I haven't spent as long as 15 minutes, but I can't see it as a left brainie.

I remember that Qbert game. The cubes would flip upside down on me a lot. Then I could flipp them around at will, which was kinda fun.

You all remember those pictures you'd see in the malls back years ago, with the hidden picture in it? I never could see the hidden images. I was given one as a gift and it was hung up over where I sit much of the day/night. Still nothing:( I'm like that tubby guy in Mallrats.
