I'm behind on some of the episodes, but I've recently listened to the Gene and Dave "talk", with the listener music (nice BTW), etc. I still have some episodes I haven't listened to yet, even the Bill Knell.

But one item I thought was important was a basic explanation or description of what the show is about. Of course I think most listeners understand that the show is about finding some truth and this approach seems to and should have several prongs. What I mean is that time would need to be spent on both interviewing people that may have information concerning the truth of these mysteries AND on people that do not do the field any good whatsoever. In fact "they" are largely responsible for the marginalization and lack of genuine interest in the subject.

I started a thread some time ago that asked the question whether we should attack these frauds or simply ignore them. And while I don't think all the time should be spent attacking these people (because you get no closer to any truth), SOME time should be spent examining them and blowing them up if merited. It simply needs to be known, for everyone, that they are frauds. From there we can move on.

Giving someone a mic and letting them gush utter BS and not questioning them does NOTHING to help uncover any nuggets of truth.

Here's the thing with this already too long post: I think it is important for the listeners to understand the objectives of the show and it was important for David to explain this.

No one seems to be doing this (calling out frauds), and it does need to be done. From there, we just move them out of the loop, forget them, and move to more important, and perhaps, relevant info. This is part of the problem I see with the Paratopia stuff. Frustration may have a way of making people want to stubbornly consistently go after someone with no apparent progress. (Thats another subject altogether and no disrespect to Jeff or Jeremy) IMO, at some point, the "attack" mode needs to move "ignore".

So , while some people think the Paracast is some kind of "sniper" show, the truth is that you guys are genuinely looking for truth in the subject and a multipronged approach is neccessary, even if it gets ugly and hurts feelings. For whatever reason some people think that you have to "play nice" regardless of information presented. Screw that. Finding the truth is a tough job, and I , for one, appreciate the open explanation and clarification of what the show is about and how and why it goes about it's business the ways it does. I thought it was important to convey this to any and every listener. Thanks guys.
