Not sure if that Bob Lazar/ Billy G Show was a repeat but I really enjoyed this Don, thanks for putting it together. This it was really interesting for someone who previously only had a vague idea of the whole affair.

To someone who's pretty skeptical he sounded a little scared, inconsistent and sort of flustered enough that his story sounded genuine, not sure if you've done this already but it would be interesting to hear a show about his whole story from beginning to end. Is Bob Lazar still around? [ edit: moral of the tale is always listen to the very end ].

Just dropping a note to say how enjoyable this show was. Thanks for making it, Don. And I hope you do many other historical shows.

Lance

Even though i disagree with you Lance with comes to UFO's, at least you do take the time out of your day to hear, the alternative view to what UFOs could be, not many people, who believe in UFO's would do the same thing, and sit and listen to a skeptical podcast for two hours.

Don, Good work with editing love to hear more of these type of shows.

Don, to answer your question about putting out these kinds of historical shows: Yes! A million times. They are fascinating. Give us all you have.

I am listening to the William Cooper one now which Don put a lot of effort into making an important show.
I really don't agree with Don on most anything related to UFO's but he does an excellent job as a radio host/producer.
Reading Cooper's Wikipedia page, I note that his followers have obviously taken control of it, painting him as a reasonable man.
Lance

Usually each morning after I have my first cup I turn on my network and then check several sites I check daily. Of course this forum I usually check first. I noticed this note yesterday but couldn't respond at the time because I was tied up in several other things. UFOs, ah ha. Well, let us discuss UFOs for a moment. I found Lance's remark above .. hmm ... curious. Perhaps curious because I do not think Lance and other skeptics have ever given me my "do" on the UFO topic. Now, allow me to wax poetic for a bit.

Just what background do I hail from? Am I a "graphic artist" that suddenly "discovered" UFOs? Nope. Am I an "office manager" that was looking for something to help me escape from my "hum-drum" routine after work? Nope. Did I use to do a mediocre "political talk" show on radio, and gravitate to UFO's to spice up my show and ratings? Nope. So, what in hell did I do?

I was a cop and detective that was once tasked with an investigation on two agricultural crimes, ie ... two cattle mutilations. And even though at the time I had no idea that this crime "might" have a connection to the UFO subject, I knew it was damn strange and I was surprised at how my dept. acted about it. They wanted it closed, and closed quickly. Like I said ... weird. Okay, so a number of years later after I was wounded on duty and ended up retiring I had all this ... time on my hands ... and bought my first computer. Then I bought a modem. Then I discovered Compuserve. And in the middle of all this I then discovered the ISSUES forum on CIS. Things took off ... especially after I found some files on cattle mutes .. and the UFO subject.

When I first made a decision to jump into the (UFO) fray I made a promise to myself that I would treat this topic just like I treated any homicide or robbery or rape I ever investigated. Go with the facts and screw the BS. And, if any of you have ever followed anything I have done in either the pages of UFO Magazine (back when my wife and I published the mag. before it went to hell) or listened to any of my radio programs I have done for 20 years, or ever heard me give a lecture ... you will know that is true. For example, and this is directed to Lance and the other skeptics on this forum, look at my record and how many frauds I have deflated over the years. How about a short list? Guy Kirkwood, Bill Cooper, John Lear, Dan Crain, George Green, Steve Greer, Sean Morton ... to name a few. Yes all my skeptical friends ... I am open to the possibility that "some" UFOs cannot be easily explained, regardless of what the Air Force, NASA, Navy and CIA and FBI might say. As a matter of complete fact I have personally broken several cases that have never been explained to anyones satisfaction so those cases remain in my "gray basket" but you can never freaking ever point to anywhere where I have ever said E freaking T, period. Just like when I was a cop, I always knew that if I ever had to testify in a court of law I could never swear to the fact that something was ET. How could I prove that? Well, I couldn't.

Lance Moody reminds me of Dr. Mike Shermer in what he thinks he knows. One time I was downtown (in LA) on a Sunday morning on a FM radio show. Along with me were Dwight Schultz and Mike Shermer. We were debating the whole UFO thing and Shermer was shocked when I affirmed to him I thought the whole MJ-12 thing was bullshit. He was just freaken' convinced that since I was a "UFO guy" that I was on-board with MJ-12. I tried to explain to him that I was an investigator that stuck to the protocols of doing an investigation, in other words going where the evidence and facts led me. Unlike Shermer who I later forced to admit that a case he was trying to "diss", in fact he never read anything on it, nor the book he was diss-ing. Skepticism by decree, not research. Of course the skeptics never will admit it when they are shown to be full of it. Much like that totally insane Kal Korff character. 15 years or so ago Korff was a "skeptical darling" cause he wrote a book on the Billy Meir case and then another ( and it was totally a cut and paste job ) on Roswell. But, when this minor moron went off the rails with the Art Bell fiasco and later with him being a "Colonel in the Israeli founded Special Secret Services, the fricken Skeptical community doesn't say squat about him. As a matter of fact that is the difference between "some" in the UFO community as opposed to the Skeptical community. "Some" of us will speak out about the UFO frauds, doesn't happen much with the Skeptics. Take Phil Klass's meltdown on my radio show on Jan. 21, 1995. After that happened I brought that up with people like Jim Oberg and Mike Shermer, not a peep out of either of them.

So my skeptical friends, just because I happen to be willing to keep an open mind on the possibility of ET life coming here to Planet Earth now, or in the past or future, do not for a second think that you will get a free pass if you attempt to steamroller me, you won't. And yes Ladies and Gentlemen I am a skeptic but the difference with the "mainstream" skeptics, I am a skeptic with an open mind where as most of the other skeptics have a closed and locked up one.

Hi Don,

I furthermore acknowledge and affirm that by and large hoaxes are exposed not by skeptics but by UFO enthusiasts. This is indeed one of the dirty secrets of skeptics.

Of course this doesn't change the fact that skeptics like me think that UFO supporters like you take the evidence beyond where it rightfully can carry you. It all comes down to the idea that we weigh the evidence differently, I think. This is the divide. And I know we aren't going to get over it anytime soon.
Lance

Thank you Lance, you made my point beautifully. If we are putting labels on people, my label would be "writer, researcher, investigator, and radio broadcaster". This is what I do and what I did. Hardly an enthusiast. I am not quite sure what your day job is but I would suggest you are the enthusiast with your interest in the paranormal field. Actually I find the term enthusiast to be insulting, and I resent it.

Now as to the other paragraph I highlighted ... I totally resent the label "ufo supporter" and if you are going to state that I took evidence beyond where I could not support a claim ... which I will state ... crap ... you must show me when ... where ... who ... how ... and what case. What you just did was lump ME into a generalization, and once again ... that is crap.
