Good for him, you have to admire a guy who would shut down his own business instead of giving in to pressure from government goons. It's sad that it has come to this, but let's face it, the government has been running roughshod over certain Constitutional liberties since 9/11.
 
I find this a bit ironic. Why doesn't Snowden just save Lavabit the hassle of dealing with legal issues over his use of their system and just give his consent? After all he's basically telling the whole world all about himself and what he's doing anyway. So really ... so what if everyone knows? If he doesn't have anything truly morally compromising to hide, take the wind out of their sails and just post it in public. Isn't that the whole point of being a whistle blower?
